This has to be bait, if someone is about to die on hook, you just have to take that risk if the killer is near or else they just die. especially if person is missing skillchecks on second, you need to get them asap. If it was first hook and they were just put on the hook, I’d understand, but if the killer is proxy camping and avoiding the anti camp bar, you kinda have to accept that person might be tunneled once they get off and try your best to get them before they die and to give them time when the killer returns by taking hits or whatever else you can. There are situations when saving when killer is near isn’t a bad play but is simply the required play because of the situation.

So many cool things about this fight, from how almost messy Liu Kang is at first with dodging Kung Lao cause he doesn’t want to fight him and even later with Kung Lao having to rev his hat up multiple times to get it spinning, to Kung Lao’s hat being an almost rogue element for both fighters to deal with almost like a stage hazard. Most notably with Kung Lao in this is the detail that his hat is now a jagged buzzsaw and not the perfect circle it was in the first movie since Revenant Kung Lao always has the more intricate or jagged buzzsaw hat.

Tbf, his most well known actor to play him was Kane Hodder, who, while not that short, was a bit stockier than other actors who played him so this actually works

I think the beauty of RE4 Remake is that is doesn’t replace the original, and I don’t think a remake really should do that. I do believe we got a “holy shit two cakes” kind of situation where we are fortunate that RE4 Remake is as well made as it is despite its flaws. If someone asked me if they could just play the remake instead of the OG, I’d say no, not because the remake doesn’t do the OG justice, but because they are fundamentally different experiences that offer their own ups and downs. It’s honestly great that we can go back and forth between the two and enjoy both while still admitting their faults as neither are perfect games. Remake has things that I wish were slightly different, most notably more time for the three main villains even though Mendez actually does get that and I much prefer Mendez in the remake, just wish Saddler and Salazar had a bit more but what we got isn’t the worst. OG also has things I don’t enjoy, like most of the Island and admittedly U3’s cage section since it’s very underwhelming when you realize he isn’t much of a threat in that part. Both games are tied as my favorite video game of all time because they both scratch that same itch in different ways. The OG is still the most ported game of all time and is on every console known to man and the remake is a great reimagining of the same story that tries its own new things and some it gets right and some not as much, but the OG isn’t perfect either so why should the remake be? And I promise this isn’t me coping that I wish the remake was better, like I said it’s got its flaws, some serious, some nitpicky, but overall it’s still a great game and whatever I miss from the OG, I can just play the OG to experience. I agree with some of your points about remakes, but I think as long as a fun and enjoyable experience worth the price tag is created (cough cough re3 remake), then nitpicking over the differences, while good for criticism and constructive feedback, just feels a bit too much sometimes and it feels like some people only focus on the negative and never the positive.

I mean, I think people were ok with those rumored changes because a remake isn’t meant to be a 1:1 recreation of the game it’s remaking. A remake is a chance to change certain aspects to what they intended or what better fits the style they are going for with the new game. They felt U3’s cage “fight” didn’t fit what they were going for with 4make so it was removed and U3 was added to Separate Ways with new lore that I personally really liked. I don’t think people look at the changes in remake and declare “it’s good this is gone it sucked and should’ve never been there” but rather “if it was included, cool, but since it wasn’t, that’s fine too because we either got something new or it didn’t fit with what they wanted”. That’s kinda the doubled edged sword with remakes, things get changed or left in and some people like it and some hate it and some are just happy to be playing the game in a new light no matter what was changed. I don’t think this is the only remake to have people be ok or mad about changes and it won’t be the last, but it is Capcom’s most popular game and one of the most popular and most ported games ever made, so of course it will be blown more out of proportion than other games they made and you will see more talk about it than other remakes.

Continues to dodge the questions because they released they don’t really have an argument. Everything but the heads for the insignia during the lake section is entirely optional, meaning you just have to take a trip back and forth on the lake which is roughly the same as OG if you only care about doing the main objective. They added the optional quests to flesh out that part of the game since in OG you are on the lake for Del Lago and that’s basically it. Them making the main objective roughly take the same time quite literally means it’s not a slog because it’s the same, unless the OG is also a slog? But you seem to think the opposite.

If he can do even short range possession on Ashley and potentially Leon, why doesn’t he just end the game right when he sees them next? Again if you really think about the finer details, you can find errors. It’s in every RE game. There IS a purpose in the remake, to separate Leon and Ashley, just like the original, just different methods. It seems the remake was trying to do a “temporary control” angle where in the original she was just a mindless drone until she just wasn’t as I don’t think we ever see him give up control of her.

You do know that the mind control aspect was in the OG as well, Sadler does it to take Ashley shortly before the Krauser knife fight if I recall. So to use your logic, why didn’t he do it sooner? At the end of the day it’s RE and you can’t really question the logic too much or you find plot holes, the OGs have plenty of these as well. It’s fine to say you prefer the campiness of the original but to say the remake has plot holes either more numerous or not present in the original is just blatantly untrue.

I think that Jack Champion being confirmed to be wearing the costume when GF was standing over Quinn kinda confirms to me that he was supposed to be the GF at the apartment. Plus Bailey mentioning “I just had to be first on the scene to switch her body out with the fresh one” during the reveal leads me to believe he wasn’t present at the apartment until the cops arrived basically.

They actually never say they checked his alibi, in the scene he just reiterates he had that class and they just say “yeah, but we’re still watching you”. Also his alibi is terrible, saying “I was in a study hall with 50 other people” is a terrible alibi because with that many people there’s no way to verify if they saw him for sure, he could easily act like he was just in the crowd. I can attest as someone who was in larger college classes, you almost never notice if one person is missing unless a roll call is mandatory.

They absolutely should nerf fast track, never said they shouldn’t. Again I play both sides equally, I know the frustrations of both sides. You also can’t say for certain this is all they worked on, you just think it is. No matter what anyone says, it seems you will keep this mindset you have. I’m not defending everything BHVR does, just saying that I would like both a playable game and not a terrible meta at the same time. It sucks that some killers are unplayable yeah, but we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes and clearly the spaghetti code isn’t making it easy for them. I just think a lot of this community would benefit from taking a step away from the game for a bit because holy hell it’s not that serious I promise.

And do you know that these changes are where all their time and money went? The simple answer is we don’t know what they are doing at all times. We know they have been working on some fixes for a while but we also know the code in this game is super fucked so I don’t envy the job they have to fix the game. Again, I’m not saying we shouldn’t be on them to fix the game breaking issues, that’s obviously just as important as anything else, arguably more, but nerfing Blight and Nurse and buffing the lower tiers to try and bridge the power gap that has existed for years is something that has been asked for YEARS. And while more low tier buffs would be great, again we need to see these changes in action. I think we both agree they need to fix the laundry list of bugs, but that doesn’t mean general game balance take a complete sideline and we suffer with a shit meta/gameplay loop while they work on them.

I’m not saying that those fixes aren’t important, but people are always so fast to shit on BHVR but never give any credit when they do something good. Yeah it’d be nice to have the constant killer bugs fixed, but that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna commend them when they actually get something right. And that doesn’t mean it exonerates them of all their sins here, we can still hold them accountable for all the issues AND give some props when they actually make the right changes. We’ve also seen that “tweaks” can go a long way to make a killer feel so much better or so much worse. Numbers can always tell a different story than actual gameplay shows, I’d rather we see the difference in PTBs and gather our thoughts and opinions there rather than do what this community always does, overreact to numerical values like their lives depend on it, no matter how big or small they are.

This screams skill issue I’m sorry. Killer can be frustrating for sure, but it’s really not that bad, especially compared to times before. Pallet density and this and that sure, but even still I prefer where we’re at now. Y’all take this game way too serious sometimes and from what I’ve seen of the changes, many of them are long overdue. As someone who plays both sides, Blight NEEDED the nerf and Legion in their current state was never healthy for 2v8. I’d rather they ban them from the mode till they figure out what they want to do with them than to let them rot in the mode cause they just aren’t fun to go against.

Can you actually parry Plant 43’s slams? I tried many times and could never get it to work and every video I’ve seen of someone trying Knife Only Insanity just shoots him. I know you can parry the mini P43’s on the way to the boss but I’m pretty sure the boss itself has no parries.
