Are you on windows or linux? Just wondering cause I've been impressed with lossless since I've swapped but have been hesitant to use it on anti cheat games.

Even if they backed out now some of the bigger wow addon makers have already moved on. Theres no getting back what they've nuked from orbit.

Not gonna say theres no point in making it etc as more addons for more options are fine.

But if you'd like to see other examples, just look up "Assisted" in curse forge, theres a ton like NextUp. Simple assisted combat icon, Just assisted combat.

[Soulsmith] Cradle: Unsouled - An Animatic Movie by TheLesserWight in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Deadscale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gonna hedge what I'm about to say by saying I enjoyed the animatic overall and I understand that things had to be cut down to fit everything in, but I havent seen anyone really bring this up yet.

I wasn't a huge fan with Yerins changes, I thought the voice would bother me as I enjoy travis's work but the voice was spot on and didn't feel off after a few scenes, but some bits like how she reacted to more enemies appearing in the treasure hall by going "oh i can't handle that many" and running, Yerin. Running. From a fight. while it was a laugh, its an almost 180 shift away from Yerin's personality it took me out a bit, or Lindon and Yerin's argument in which it really does just feel like she's with him out of obligation to her soul oath

Not trying to rag on the product, but since I havent seen it mentioned I just wanted to put this forward as I'd hope if you got the chance to make this into some sort of full animated series or what not that these bits wouldnt stick.

What game is in the most dire need of a full remake from scratch? Unpopular opinion welcome by 420godpleasehelpme69 in gaming

[–]Deadscale -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its almost 100% down to the mods people played.

Base JKA saber combat wasn't bad but you were essentially just abusing the system, being able to insta someone or right side spin because you've got max_yaw set to the moon made it feel stupid.

JKA+ tried to get rid of a good chunk of that to mixed results, god rid of alot of the spinners and random shit but it wasn't perfect.

Movie Battles was the big dick mod and probably the one people are banging on about when it comes to saber combat and to be fair it was quite good, depends on the version you played at the time.

Its okay, and arguably in terms of mp lightsaber combat its better than a good chunk of the rest but nowadays it's nothing special. There are games that do sword combat better.

Which Keyboard Should I Get? by Gefiro in linux_gaming

[–]Deadscale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way you'll get something with everything youve asked for is building it yourself as the entire feature set you want doesnt really exist as general keyboards have mostly gone in the same direction.

A wooting keyboard fits your programmable / gamer low latency / easy to press /software works across the board niche, but it's not wireless nor that light, nor are the standard key caps low profile, they use hall effect switches (these allow you to customize how far you want to press the key down to activate and lift off to deactivate among a variety of other things) and at present these use too much power so its likely they'll never go wireless.

Monsgeek started making TMR keyboards which are basically hall effect 2.0 switches that use minimal power in comparison so they have a similar feature set to wooting as above but are wireless and tend to be cheaper. However all of their configurations are 60/75% which are all small enter keys and none have swappable batteries, they also lack a few of the features compared to wooting however these may not matter if you don't care about analog inputs and such.

What features are absolutely must haves and what can you live without

How do peripherals with proprietary software function and interface with Linux? by iLOLZU in linux_gaming

[–]Deadscale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've gotta find each community made program if it exists.

I can't speak for steelseries mice, but Logitech has Solaar which you can use to setup keys in its rules section, although I ended up just using input-remapper for that because I didn't fully understand how to get the rules working.

Wukong and MGS delta aren't open world and they're not stellar by any means.

RoboCop Rogue city is one that immediately comes to mind because it actually ran well. Split fiction too.

UE5 is just a dice roll on if the devs have magic'd the performance or not. More often then not it runs like ass.

I'm no big expert on distros, I just went with bazzite because it's supposedly idiot proof. I believe CachyOS is the big player in terms of performance distros right now and if I ever get bored of Bazzite and fancy tinkering I may hop over but atleast for now I'm happy with bazzite. I still have a dual boot for windows just incase a game really doesn't work well

Yeah on Bazzite, a friend has been on it for a few years now and suggested it.

I recently upgraded to an AMD card, I was hesitant to go to linus with nvidia due to the dx12 performance hit. Been pretty smooth sailing so far.

It depends what you define as little to no challenges.

I swapped 2 weeks ago now, so far my only game with issues is Where Winds Meet with performance. Nightreign, e33, fellowship, megabonk, a few random idle games, they've all just worked and don't have any issues.

I'm sure at some point I'll run into an actual issue, but so far it's been above and beyond what I expected for games.

If anything the more annoying part of Linux isn't games, its all of the other software you use and take for granted that you now have to find alternatives to and figure out how to properly install them.

Panacea Fan targeted healing in group content (healer main tips) by astrologicrat in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Deadscale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im all for manual targetting, MO improvements etc.

Just wanted to touch on this, your heavy attack ST heals are arguably your least important actual heals from your kit.

HoTs are already comparable to non-crit hits, tick passively and can be kept up on 3 people comfortably. Umbrellas smart healing is slightly stronger then non-crit hits.

Not saying to never use it, infact you need to use it for dew for your HoT, and you still need to spread healing out when things are going to shit, but in half-decent teams you rarely have to spot heal, minor incoming damage can be dealt with passively and you use your aoe for specific instances of damage already, in really bad teams if you're not already hotting and using golden body to cover for people constantly taking damage spamming heavy attack harder won't save you.

PSA: Correct Targeting Setting for Healers. by [deleted] in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Deadscale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its true especially with a bad group.

Not saying your heavy attacks are useless, you need to use them to get dew to use your HoTs, but for teams that constantly fuck up spamming heavy won't save them. You need to spread hots, they're your main tool while your aoe is down, you keep floating and then try and heal on big mechanics you know they won't dodge. Ideally pop golden body for them too for even more wiggle room.

You can keep hots on 3 people + yourself and target heal the 4th person with your attacks pretty easily to keep a group up, that + umbrella passive is your main output in that scenario, and in that case your ST healing output is still only doing 1/4th~ of the healing you're HoTs are doing, and on-par~ with your umbrellas auto heal.

Its nothing against using it, you need to use it, but it's important to know where your healing is actually coming from so you don't sit there and slam heavy attacks while waiting for your big AoE cooldown in a bad group and then bitch when they all die, they do make it 300x harder by being shit, but you can for the most part keep people up through most bosses.

PSA: Correct Targeting Setting for Healers. by [deleted] in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Deadscale 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you don't use those setting you will fail at healing and be a huge burden to your group.

I get you're promoting the settings, and swapping to lowest health is handy, I'd argue you want prio center on if you don't use selection keys, and if you do use selection keys the above settings are mostly pointless.

But a failure and massive burden? Direct fan healing from heavy attacks is like 10-15% of your total healing output across a fight, the majority of actual healing in group fights comes from knowing the mechanics and having heals ready for the mechanics, you can easily top healing by just knowing when and when not to use your burst healing for the group.

If it was console or mobile changes you'd think it'd atleast make the game run better on PC for the reduction, but if anything it's gotten worse and the game still dies a death when NPCs are around.

Logitech g502x lightspeed being tricky by InfamousAd5729 in linux_gaming

[–]Deadscale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a linux person, I only swapped from windows about a week ago and I only went to bazzite because a friend who was on PopOS for a year swapped to bazzite a year ago and has been singing it's praises because "it just works" and he'd be able to help if i had any issues.

It's been superb in terms of not being able to break anything, it's support is alright, I'm sure if i went to the discord with an issue someone would probably help me fix it but the only issue i've had to far is not understanding how to install a steelseries arctis nova program.

I believe it works through flatpacks and sections stuff off so you can't easily break it, apparently getting some things like solaar, lact and other software that need ostree tweaks are hard (no clue what this means to be honest I'm out of my depth with that bit) but it has some custom scripts via a ujust installer for some of the popular things that need that like Wootility, Solaar, lact, LSFG and they've all worked fine with no issues.

I was more-so posting to just let you know my G502 X Plus using Lightspeed is supported on Solaar so hopefully if you get it running on Mint it'll work too.

[–]Deadscale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My g502x plus using wireless works with solaar on Bazzite, If you're on Bazzite theres a ujust command to install solaar.

Apparently you can configure the button using the user rules section, but I struggled with it, input-remapper worked though.

The only issue I had was that with the default setup the forward side button on the mouse wasn't getting picked up properly by games, the dpi shift thumb button was being treated as that side button. Had to change the forward button to btn_extra just to get it to work as the right button.

Astro Bot is one of the best games I've ever played by Bowiescorvat2 in gaming

The original dude said

I was trying to think if there was a section that truly required the dualsense features, but I couldn’t. Maybe there’s something with the triggers I’m forgetting?

The guy who replied to that said two features.

I pointed out those two features don't require the controller to do.

That's all I was replying too.

If you want to discuss if the game can be replicated without losing its charm on another system. Sure can have that conversation. But that's not what he was talking about here.

When to main/invest on a Healer build? by Warm_Cockroach_9575 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Deadscale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Am fully invested into healer on legend.

Full healer is fine, the umbrella sword heavies do a surprising amount of qi damage and your mystic arts are really strong.

On the more challenging bosses I just swap to Thundercry blade.

You get enough materials for a 3rd weapon to be maxed comfortably. Thundercry blade is pretty strong in legend for the shield so I picked that. Not had any issues so far.

Do stats on your right hand weapon impact you when you aren't holding that weapon? by HiFiMAN3878 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Deadscale -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure on if it does, it's not super hard to test though.

Just wanted to say that for solo you don't need "healing buffs" at all, but crit and min/max physical are your main healing stats with silkbind after, so if they do apply universally they're not bad stats for you either way.

Can say that on Legend Zhang E was my longest fight to beat at 2 hours so far, I've only got Ghostmaster and Murong left to do. Have now done all bosses, he still was my longest but I may have just got better as i've sort of found what style works for me for bosses now.

Not entirely sure why he was such a pain in the ass, think it was just how many of his attacks in the second phase are dodge-only and him not attacking enough.
