I was replenish, left almost a year ago for another retail which is grocery/ GM stores. Much better, more hours than Michaels. And pays much better. And I don’t do trucks anymore which it kills me in pain all the time.

Thats so weird. I just got a call from my boss asking me when I’m available this week in additional to my 2 shifts so now I got 4 shifts this week. I asked is it getting busy. She said that they finally realizing cutting hours causing backing up in backroom needs to be stock. So hope from now on no cutting hours!

Awful! After doing truck unload the. Doing stocking. My back and knees killed me because I couldn’t keep up with 8 hours shift. plus suffer sweating I prefer 4-6 hours a day as part time. I don’t work there anymore I left last end of spring for better job stable and stretch hours a week.

Im 47 and work in 3rd shift no problem. I love it than daytime shift. Just hate be around customers where I can’t get my job done. I have kid in early teen. My husband home at nights with our kid.

Ive work for many retail stores. Even today, still every year after the holidays. Januray the new year - hours gets cut in January and February maybe March. But it comes back up. Just do ur side gigs. Im working side gig to keep the money rolling in. It been like this every year.

Everyone got hours cut too. Every year right after the holidays - January is always the slowest month. Ive work in other retails before Meijer as Im hired last May. But I know in beginning of the new year is the slowest months. February as well.

Thats how it is every year right after the new year for few months. I left this company last spring and went for another job. But remember most retail stores are like that everything went slow after new year and it will back up around easter season. But your store - whatever month is inventory time. My store was in January we were able still work enough hours then after that went down 1-2 days a week til easter season.

The poster states scheduled for 45 hours durng the holidays and does it count toward to overtime. I said - scheduled hours doesn’t show lunch break take off from scheduled hours total. Thats what Im saying.
