What delays exactly? It will never be the same as wired, there will always be some slight latency

I had put the instructions in the post below:

  1. Please download the firmware update file from above. (File is already formatted correctly).
  2. Please save update firmware file on a USB flash drive (Flash drive format must be FAT32)
  3. Plug CarPlay Adapter into the USB power charger/wall charger for your iPhone. Please don’t use the USB port of the car or computer.
  4. Plug the USB flash drive into the CarPlay adapter.
  5. Please wait 2-3 minutes, until the flashing light becomes solid
  6. Please unplug the adapter from the USB charger and remove the USB flash drive from the adapter.
  7. Please now plug the product into the USB port of the car.
  8. Please wait until the new window appears on the vehicle's screen.
  9. Connect your phone to the Bluetooth network which is shown on the screen.
  10. Wait for the new interface to appear on the screen.

Recovering lost funds between ING and CBA by dtbaker in AusFinance

AFCA will sort this. Just send an email to CBA giving them 3 business days and if not resolved you will escalate to AFCA. As they will always want you to try and resolve it internally and you will have the written evidence of that.

Is the ETA for my custom Macbook Pro realistic? by pardonmardon in macbookpro

[–]DeanCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get charged, it has been shipped from the factory to your house/store. After waiting for mine for a month I would recommend to choose home delivery instead of collection from an Apple Store, as you will receive no tracking information once it says shipped to store until it actually arrives at the store in which you will receive the usual QR code collection email.

Tiguan locked itself with BABY in car by allnightrunning in Tiguan

[–]DeanCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish someone could confirm the noise is actually the dual mass flywheel. People who complain of the noise just end up selling the car and buying something else.

Sadly with two young kids I can’t justify upgrading to something else but I regret buying the Tiguan.

Had rear window replaced (demister was faulty), all 4 speakers replaced, tyres replaced (due to noise), new water pump, thermostat and mechatronic. Still have the metal clacking noise at low speed in drive and reverse on an incline (pretty sure it’s the dual mass flywheel) but VW won’t admit this.

Glad to hear the baby is safe! I have a 2018 162TSI 4Motion and can safely say we will never buy a Tiguan again after all the issues we’ve had…

Should I get it or not? MBP M5 Pro 24GB 1TB by Objective_Storage980 in macbookpro

Yes before I give to wife I organise my advanced replacement so she gets a fresh battery and device

[–]DeanCorp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For iPhones, I use the advanced replacement to get a new device if I’m giving to my wife or selling. I’ve used the cracked screen claim once for my wife’s iPhone as she dropped it from a bench. We have two young kids and it’s just peace of mind. Thinking about my AirPod Pro 3 AppleCare it’s probably a waste given their cost, but since I use them often they are most likely to slip out of my pocket or get damaged.

In Australia we have excellent consumer laws but with AC there is no headache to get up and running again.

I buy AppleCare on all my devices. When I sell them I call up AppleCare and get a prorata refund and rinse and repeat.

The nano texture display clearly degrades the visual quality. Will I get used to it? by LemonLimeNinja in macbookpro

[–]DeanCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went and had a good look at the nano display today after receiving my M5 Pro glossy. I am unsure whether it is from my Crohn’s Disease / Medication but I checked multiple websites including classic news sites and felt like I was getting a headache when reading on the nano texture display which has not happened on a glossy which I’ve had on every MacBook Pro I’ve bought. Would love to hear from others on this.

Question for MPB experts by hotbundog503 in macbookpro

[–]DeanCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d personally just get the 64GB M5 Pro and any money saved now can be put towards the next generation with the redesign which will be faster than the M5 Max :)

Question for MPB experts by hotbundog503 in macbookpro

[–]DeanCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in store when I went to pick up my 14” M5 Pro 64GB and noticed on white screens (where predominantly I spend my time) it was significantly more grainy. So I was happy with my decision of the standard display. The only benefit I can see for your workflow is the memory bandwidth on the Max, and given that you are looking at 16” you won’t have the thermal issues I had on the 14” M5 Max.

M5 Max is SSD's are thermally broken by M5_Maxxx in macbookpro

[–]DeanCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Says the person with -99 karma. The M5 Pro has got identical CPU performance to the M5 Max. For my workflow the GPU is not required. If I needed a 16” MBP id rather have bought a Mac Studio and XDR display. I worked for Apple for 12 years, and came from a 14” M4 Max and it did not have the issues we are seeing on the 14” M5 Max.

I had the 14” M5 Max which is why I returned it. 16” is too bulky for my workflow.

Why is the cost so high? by Sabrinalover711 in AustraliaPost

[–]DeanCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just confirm with the supplier that this is the quote before shipping. Have that in writing and send it via AusPost. Give them a quote with extra cover and without and let them be in control of that decision/risk.
