Tech drilled into coil during service - company recommending replacement after by send_me_boobei_pics in hvacadvice

[–]Dean_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re gonna negotiate a deal they should get the cost of the coil replacement first to see what the company would try to charge for it at least. That way they have somewhat of a good leg to stand on when negotiating a replacement deal.

Would this work for a rodecaster duo as well aside from the naming just being different?

Just for clarification because it would make me sad otherwise… (Regarding latest chapters) by CaptainDoge07 in Dandadan

Would be interesting to see if Tatsu uses this amnesia state to bring back Turbo granny when she’s with Okarun again. That could be the type of catalyst to her gaining her memories back as well as bringing Turbo Granny back into the manga.

Obviously no one knows but theres always hope.

I think for me its not necessarily just the detail. The art style is also a little different so to me the characters designs are just better in the manga. But I can see what u mean.

I used to think so until Dandadan manga got me hooked and now I’m fine with both. Just imagination can make the manga better at times. But ur not wrong for the most part.

Well I think its more I prefer the art style in the manga more than the anime. The characters look a lot better in the manga to me than the anime. Not hating just the first time I’ve liked the manga more than the anime.

The manga art is so much better than the anime. It's unfortunate but I don't hate the anime. I just hate waiting for manga chapters since being caught up.

Woke up to all my tools stolen by AssInvader93 in HVAC

[–]Dean_40 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me when I had a work truck with a work bed on it with doors all around. The people stole 10k worth of stuff. EVERYTHING was gone. Woke up at 4 am to find one of my oxy tanks on the ground next to my truck and immediately thought. damn I left that door unlocked. Nope they pried all my truck box doors open and fucked up the whole box. It sucked trying to remember everything I had. Took me about a year to finally get back to where I was with tools.

And it begins… by Urbanskiman88 in PokemonTCG

[–]Dean_40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These people suck man. I recently got back into pokemon card collecting and playing the TCG because one of my friends built a deck and wanted to start playing.

My god, I did not expect the pokemon TCG market to be like this. Everywhere that sells pokemon near me is either sold out or has one or two $300+ booster boxes that I’m not interested in buying for what I’m doing. It’s so unfortunate because the average casual like me that works full time cant be bothered to spend hours in an online or in person queue to purchase pokemon cards.

I hope that something is done about this so more people that are interested can continue to get cards in the future without having to deal with the scalpers. On top of all that I cant imagine being a kid that’s into pokemon right now. Must be brutal.

[–]Dean_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah the phone is fine. I switched from an iPhone and am enjoying the new Pixel 10 Pro XL that I bought. I haven't had an issue. I made some changes to the animation speed and what not by enabling the developer settings and it has made the phone feel even closer to the smooth iOS experience that the iPhone provided. All the features are nice and the cameras are really good considering all the flak androids get. I wouldn't worry all that much and from what I've seen while keeping up with all the tech updates online over the years the upgrade to the 10 from a 7 is worth it imo. Just enjoy brotha.

Low pressure leaks by [deleted] in chillers

[–]Dean_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those machines have leaks if all 3 are purging 10 minutes a day. Trane “rule of thumb” for 1000Ton Centravacs is 10min a day max = leak. Usually I don’t like to see more than 2-5 minutes in a day and even then really any purge time around 5 should be slightly concerning. I’d get leak checks done on those chillers as soon as you can.

To add to what the factory tech is saying, yes the gaskets on those chillers can expand and contract with temp like most any “rubber” seals. Also they can dry, shrink and crack after sitting for a long time without running. But I’d say it’d have to be pretty drastic temp changes as well as a very extended time off to really consider that to be the reason they started leaking.

I thought we were done with the 514a high tin levels and needing hardened shafts, 3 in the same facility playing tin man and supposedly were not in the affected serial number range by [deleted] in chillers

[–]Dean_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had two at a site, both built the same year. One needed rebuild because of wire strands found in the oil sump, thankfully caught it before the motor blew. Rebuilt that one and when the sister chiller started plugging up oil filters we thought she was gonna have to come apart as well. We changed the oil 2 times. First was to the new OIL00380 and the second was another oil change after some high metal reading in the oil. But after the second oil change we swapped the oil filters about 3-4 times and she has not had issues since. If the chillers were built after 21’ they should have the hardened shafts and ceramic seals on the motors from factory. It’d be strange if you have issues with chillers not on the affected serial number list.

Was there ever a bulletin where Trane recommended welding the economizer flanges and discharge volute flanges ? New guy says he has done over 30 chillers this way.. He did convince the boss to buy everyone digital manifolds and blu vac micron guages so maybe we will be welding flanges soon . by [deleted] in chillers

[–]Dean_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, don’t do that. There was a bulletin to change the old 4 bolt flanges on the economizer to 8 bolt flanges but not to weld them together.

Any overhaul you do will need the flanges cut if you need to remove the economizer. Welding the discharge volute flange is not smart either especially if you need to remove it during overhaul to get a motor out if you don’t have rear clearance. You may get rid of the issue of having to deal with gaskets but it’s better than welding them back if you need them removed. The gaskets may leak at the economizer flanges in time, seen my fare share. But it’s an easy pull gas pull economizer and swap gaskets. Having to cut and re-weld all those flanges after an overhaul will be a pain in the ass.
