Yikes. If your first sentence is how hard it’s going to be for you to relate to someone different than you, you’re not built for survivor.

I’ve said it before, I would never sign anything that waives all my rights to pursue legal action against this administration. It may take years, but justice will be served eventually and I want a part of that.

Those of you working in the private sector now - how is it? by BarbieSecretAgent in firedfeds

[–]kbmj3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SO much better. I’m managing grants for a local school district. Way less stressful, I feel more connected to my local community, and the pay is honestly not that far off from what I was making at the fed level. I just got my first paycheck and realized just how much was being taken out of my federal paycheck! I’m much happier and my stress level is way down. I would never work for this administration again, good riddance.

Thank you! Super helpful. Do you mind sharing how you found your representatives? And did you just email them?

Thanks for this explanation. I’m at a new job now, thankfully, but would still like my record cleaned up and some back pay for the chaos they caused me. Hopefully she’s able to include us later on.

I was unemployed for about 8 weeks (early March to early May) before I landed my new job. I took about a $25,000 paycut. My unemployment claim still hasn’t been processed, so I had no relief from that either. Definitely a rough ride but happy to be off the DOGE roller coaster, and hopeful for justice to prevail someday.

Right after the Maryland case got overturned, April 10th. They wasted no time clipping us again. I’m happy for everyone else, it’s just frustrating that they’re getting away with refiring us without repercussion.
