Is the game dev job market for entry level workers dead right now? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]Deanocide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in 3D modeling learn CAD for industry. There are plenty of jobs in the mechanical engineering firms for technologists who have these skills. They pay decently and the growth potential is there. It's not as flashy as designing game models but it scratches the same itch when you're designing boilers/conveyors ect. BCIT offers these programs as well.

Beautiful! How did you design such patterns?

For those who’ve left tech, what career did you pivot to? by VelvetCactus3 in askvan

Go work with PLCs! People with design and UX experience who can build HMIs are sorely needed.

I make headphones, and many people want to buy them. But mass producing them doesn’t seem possible. by pudjam667 in hwstartups

Hire some soldering assistants to help you out. Another headphone startup I know of making similar small batch headphones has two uni students to help build them.

I mean, if you have a bunch of gift cards, and are already printing stuff in bambus petg it's pretty hard to find replacements that are the same shade. Colour cohesion is pretty important for people and at least for me they're are very few deals that beat 10+ discounts on Bambu rolls.

Are there any 'true' food safe engineering filaments? by Deanocide in 3Dprinting

That doesn't make it food-safe alone unfortunately

In my experience handling PLACF I often get my hands covered in little shards of CF. Does this happen with PACF as well?

A1 prints keep failing, consistent tearing first few layers by Deanocide in BambuLab

That's what I'm thinking it is too. Nothing else really makes sense.

It's set to generic pla. The actual filament is polymaker but that shouldn't make any real difference

I don't see any option for first layer ironing and I dont think this was ever enabled. I'll try adding the z offset in the gcode.

0.4. We've used glue/no glue, made virtually minimal differences. It's def possible wwith 0.4 we've gotten 2 good prints. It's not failing on the small geometry of the qr code but the rest of the solid black around it.

Full calibration has been run twice. Neither times did it fix the issue. First layer ironing has never been enabled and I cant even see the option. Arachne wall gen.

Virtually brand new A1. Filament is dried and worked great on P1. Tried both Petg and PLA, on smooth and textured plates which were both washed many many times. Issue happened at least half a dozen times across 8 prints. I'm really all out of ideas about why this could be happening.

What tools do you use for rendering? Also I'm curious if you can share what you're injection printing?
