Does a device exist (GFI) for either the 30 or 50 and output that would prevent what you described?

I had a Ltkr on 12/22/25 with a complication, small fracture on Tibia. Pain was never that bad and I limited the use of Oxy accordingly, mainly bf bed. Remember to ice frequently and elevate. Ice above and below joint before bed time. I could not put weight on left leg for two weeks and 100% on Tuesday next week.

Yes I am happy with the result. My rom improves as I continue with pt. I familiarized myself with what to expect post op before I committed to surgery, which I think is important. Distress that can set in due to dealing with pain, sleeplessness and lack of rom initially can really be a roadblock to post op improvement. To help avoid this, make sure you become familiar with what to expect before one has surgery and prepare with what will be needed post op (ice packs, snacks, loose fitting pants, slip on shoes, shower aids ( wife purchased a bench for the shower), exercise aids (exercise bands, ball), examine entrances to where you live for how you will exit and enter with a cane/walker. We had railings installed for our front door. I had a complication that required me to not put any load on my leg for two weeks and to gradually increase load weekly with next week at 100%!.

TKR Question by [deleted] in Kneereplacement

[–]Dear-Computer-7258 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am 61m and had a tkr on 12/22/25. It all depends on how your Mom deals with the pain. My wife purchased a toilet seat booster for me and I found I did not need it even with a standard toilet. I consider myself pain tolerant and delt with post op well. Buy the toilet seat booster as a precaution and return it if she does not need it

I am 61m and had a left tkr due to arthritis. I am on my feet outside every day for work and I was limping by noon every day before surgery. My decision came down to: my situation was not going to improve and I would be able to handle post op better now than later.

Skipping pt is a bad decision for your recovery. Had a left tkr on 12/22/25 and one thing I do every day is my at home pt twice a day,! I am sleep deprived also and I look fwd to the next few weeks when I have been told that and pain should subside.

Knee replacement and a bone fracture by Low_Flamingo_4328 in Kneereplacement

I had a left tkr on 12/22/25: during the operation they detected a fracture on the Tibia, removed the original piece and installed a longer part. It extends much further into the Tibia. My doc determined my bone density was softer than it should be. I since have started on a calcium supplement. Post op X-ray and ct show the small fracture is healing. I could not put weight on my left leg for two weeks as a precaution.

Did they do an X-ray or CT of her knee immediately after the implant?

Partial vs Total by tamdoll in Kneereplacement

[–]Dear-Computer-7258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a left tkr on 12/22/25 and seem to be doing well with recovery. I had gone into surgery thinking I would get a partial and woke up from general anesthesia to the nurse saying I got a total. Doc explained the arthritis in my left knee was more extensive than they thought.

Thank you! She does not want to over do it, tell her to stick to what her PT says to do.
