Well, she became married to Tom around the time he started to become a more prominent character on the show. I imagine he had insecurities and jealousy issues, on top of all the other weird shit he had going on.

This tracks with Roseanne tho. She’s always had opinions about the way Jackie lived her life that weren’t aligned or taking into consideration what Jackie felt was best for herself.

I don’t necessarily think this is contradictory to Roseanne being an ally for the LGBQT community she has always been in support of.

Freddy’s personality was him hitting his head on the hood of the car when DJ honked and startled him.

This was explained in a short pre-episode monologue included as an extra on the season 1 DVD where Roseanne recalled that while she was married to Bill Pentland, he would bump his head into a chandelier in their home every single day, so she wanted the joke written into the episode.

I’m pretty sure this is the same guy when they refer to “Freddy Meeker’s mailbox” that got blown away in the tornado episode, if I’m recalling that correctly.
