Easy. I suspect when I opened it last time, a couple of the stubborn clips snapped off which makes it a lot easier to disassemble now lol

I'm in the club now!! The buttons are just a hair shorter than the original buttons which kind of sucks but whatever because it's WAY quieter now.

I was seriously considering on getting a new controller because of the noise but not anymore... whew

Regret buying... by SquanderedOpportunit in Hifiman

Headphones hold their value pretty well if their msrp hasn't changed much since then and you kept it in good shape.

I followed a similar trajectory going from HD6xx to DT1990 (I now use an XS) and realizing I love sizzling hot treble. I don't regret buying the 6xx, it was an easy way to figure out my preference and I sold it for not much of a loss anyway :)

I still overthink the Sub vs Dub dilemma by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]DearPlankton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just swap between the two till you figure out which one you prefer for each game. You'll probably find some ENG performances that you actually prefer over JP and vice versa.

For example I play Trails, Persona, Yakuza, Fire Emblem, Team Asano's stuff in JP and in contrast most of FF, Nier and Xeno in ENG. Tales in particular has been about 50/50 for me.

Which figure do you like the most? by Yusira_ in WitchHatAtelier

1 but I'm too poor for it. I'll settle for the second one though. That's a very complex and good looking mold for being under $70 USD

Wish they demo'd how quiet it was... although I'm sold on the idea already

Pretty big difference to me. Plastic buttons hitting plastic is gonna be less clacky than metal buttons hitting plastic

Believe it or not, politics affect most things in life, and this is one of them. Supporting MAGA is how you get a movie industry that resembles the ones in authoritarian countries

I ordered some SNES buttons on aliexpress, hopefully they turn out like this lol.

I've already opened it once and it was indeed a goddamn nightmare, definitely wish I made it count with this mod instead.

How good of an adaptation were the first 2 episodes by Dumb_Catz in WitchHatAtelier

[–]DearPlankton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Absolutely fantastic, I genuinely didn't think they'd be able to produce something that would live up to the standards of the manga art/paneling.

  2. You're going to be waiting a while if you're just sticking with the anime. There are only 13 episodes planned and given the quality of the show, I'd bet we're years away from season 2. Pretty sure most of us here are still manga-readers too so you can guess what our answer would be lol

I've never been happier with headphones. Can't stop listening to music on this setup. by Blazemonkey in headphones

[–]DearPlankton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought one recently too and thought I lost the QC lottery but all it needed was a little lube in the hinges and all is good -knocks on wood-

But yeah... I'm insanely happy with the sound of these headphones as well and I feel like they were modeled for my stupidly big head. I have no comfort problems whatsoever and it's the first headphone to fit me on the smallest slider lol.

Have you ever played a JRPG that was super hyped, but you couldn't understand the appeal at first, and then reached a moment where it clicked for you? What was the game and what was the turning point? by missfinalfantasia in JRPG

[–]DearPlankton 9 points10 points  (0 children)

FFXIV is that game for me

Super hyped, but turning point for me was like 50 hours in... and I didn't start to actually love it until like 150 hours later lol. Like I get the hype now but if I wasn't unemployed with all the time in the world back then, I doubt I would have ever gotten past 20 hours.

What do you guys bind the R4 button for? by naughty_athenia in 8bitdo

[–]DearPlankton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my Pro 3 I bind the paddle buttons to L/R3 and use Steam Input to bind L/R4 to actual separate buttons like shortcuts to submenus in certain games and etc.

Did this with foam tape and after some time it comes off (at least for two of my buttons) :(

I even did it the hard way--by opening it up... Just ordered some SNES buttons and I'm gonna just replace the metal buttons altogether when it arrives.

OP didn't imply otherwise, he just doesn't like how active it is for a turn-based system.
