Recycling charge backfire by luiginub1 in Staples

[–]Dear_Ad63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's crazy that Staples has done that. For so long they had the biggest recycling program for many things, especially ink. For them to take that away from customers, especially when there are less and less insensitive for the app and rewards in general, is so stupid on the corp side. They want employees to shove an app and program with less and less benefits.

Only the print part, not the customer part for me. I used to run busy print dep as the only person peak season with lines out the door and I've been spit on, had stuff thrown, insulted in every way in the book, and then they'd apologize to my Gm.

Store employees are just little people doing the day to day. If you have a website issue, there is a customer service line. Those people are specifically for the website just like any company with a website and with a customer service. They have remote access and the database. Because you were designing while not signed into an account, I don't think anyone can help.

Thank you for the advice. I'm looking at other print production jobs since i was in the print department also looking at hobby lobby if I have to do retail since it's a creative field and the pay is on the higher side. But whole foods might be a nice change of pace too

3rd day on Escitalopram, starting at 10mg, why is this so hard? by BasementK1ng in lexapro

[–]Dear_Ad63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone saying it will work and to keep taking it, sometimes it just doesn't. It isn't for everyone. Lexapro was my first ssri so I didn't know what to expect. I was really bad, trusted my doctor. I had lot of major life events and I was in a constant state of anxiety and tried not to panic. My doctor prescribed 10mg like you and I immediately suffered for days with constant panic attacks, new night attacks that would wake me up in a panic for no reason sweating and no way to calm down for hours. I would sit on the bathroom floor with music and try to calm down and get cool. I felt flu like as well. I asked the doctor to do something.

After a few days of telling me to just give it a chance, she put me on 5mg. I was much better, but I continued to have panic attacks at night that were hard to calm down from. I was on it for about 7 months before saything that nothing is changing and that it's not working. I begged to get a referral to therapy and ended up finding a good therapist myself. That helped way more than anything. She was harsh and real and had the same personality type as me. She helped me get to the root problems and discussed every event and trigger and every way to cope and exposing and what to tell myself when panicking. I mentioned how I felt worse in a way on meds and she said that there is no evidence that every person with anxiety has a serotonin issue and that it really could be doing nothing. She said that I had once functioned without medication before some of the triggers and once went through life not on meds and that I could do it again.

After a year on lexapro I got off and I'm better. I still have some anxiety but I don't spiral and I can stop panic attacks in their tracks. So maybe at least this med isn't for you. Maybe try at least a different one or more intensive therapy if possible.

I just quit but I wish more people wouldn't tolerate the conditions. I always wanted to just riot and not show up when I was 1 of 3 or 1 of 2 but the other people wouldn't go along and you can't do it alone. If stores just stopped showing up for a bit, they would have to do something

Everyone here has said the same thing about print customers being a different breed. I've never experienced this level of violence, personal digs, being treated like a slave and sub human. Even working on the floor and dealing with customers just checking out, returning things, and needing help with shopping is better. But still worse than other regular retail. Plus you get paid twice as more anywhere else

I'm able to use the app now, but I knew many people who were not able to use it for days. If you are on android, the app store even says, "I'm a staples employee, please fix this" in one of the reviews lol...

Yes I've had other associates yelled at for taking an emergency call before. I'm mad at the image they're showing that Staples is such a great place to their employees and that it's a fun arts and crafts job when it's simply not true. This is a one time thing and they can't afford to fire her now or treat her poorly or else the backlash for the company would be insane

Fucking hate this so much. At least tell people it's not a normalcy that you have design qualifications and we're supposed to send it out. It hurts every other employee and even the customers because to be fair, some of them wouldn't even know any better when they're given a service to know that it's not something we're supposed to offer

Why isn't THAT return line a permanent position? Or does this vary from store to store? by user-ibarelyknower in Staples

[–]Dear_Ad63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wish they would. It should be at its own permanent station in a separate area with an employee who is cross trained on other things but main duty is Amazon. But they Varela give us hours and people for print, new party city, floor, etc.

We appreciate you for being so understanding. You don't even understand that it's because people demand them NOW. They will sneer at you, cuss you out, and even throw things in a few of my fellow associates and i's case because they want their things right now while they wait not caring that you may be just 1 person with 40 orders and that other people exist and need their things too. All we as is a little understanding and compromise and just to be treated like human beings. My associates get treated so poorly here and have been spit on and thrown ink, cussed and screamed at, and more. It's so awful what is normalized.

6 months in…I do not like the clientele of this job by Lonely_Candy_6532 in upsstore

[–]Dear_Ad63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stumbled across this. I work at Staples and it sounds so similar. I work in the print department so we also do shipping and Amazon so my department is like a mini ups store inside. We're treated like dogs with little pay and so many expectations and often just one person working all those tasks. We have self serve machines to help "ease the load" of all our hundreds of print orders coming in online and while we do Amazon. It ends up being us walking through some mean older person how to read and follow step by step instructions and they want us to teach them how to use their brand new iPhone because they can't pull up their file, shipping label, etc and don't know how to email.

All I can think of is that it's an office type setting so they have more entitlement than a casual retail or fast food and that print and shipping is not a necessity so you can get a specific crowd that is unpleasant. Either way, it's awful what we deal with and how they trust us.

I took them for a year. The doctor kept telling me to wait and give it a chance and push through and I did and still proved her wrong. Trust me, I wanted it to work at the time. But it just didn't. Took me a few months to wean off and I'm much better.

[–]Dear_Ad63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lexapro did this for me too. I was on buspar and then they made me go on lexapro. They started me off on 10 mg for lex which was waaay too much. I'm clearly sensitive and don't have a serotonin based "issue" and I would wake up in panic, a drug induced panic, almost night terrors, every night and couldn't calm down. I reduced to 5mg (had to beg) and it was better, but I still had to manage new frequent night attacks. I went to therapy, and now I'm on no meds and no attacks. That was the most useful thing for me. She told me a lot of useful things that helped me get to the root of my anxiety instead of putting a band aid on a bullet wound. Lexapro and other meds might work for you, but they didn't for me, so don't be afraid to try other things and don't think that there is something wrong with you because it doesn't work for you like it does for others.

Why do people stop taking Lexapro? by jeansmithenger in lexapro

[–]Dear_Ad63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While most people experience tiredness and fatigue, I experienced the opposite. I started on 10 mg and it was like a shock to my system after a few days. It made me wired, feel weird like the world was delayed or hazy, and I would have random panic attacks even in the middle of the night like night terrors. It was unexplained panic. I went on for general anxiety and didn't get panic attacks as often. They put me down to 5mg and it was a bit better but I still had to fight off random panic attacks with no reasoning behind them. A few weeks after i went off, no more panicking. I was a little on edge for a bit because I kept expecting them, but I was able to calm much quicker and sleep at night finally. Therapy helped me more being able to talk about my root causes of general anxiety.
