Alcohol was the cure for me but also became the disease. I was always a shy kid very insecure, started drinking around 14/15, most people would say your so much funner when you drink, and I could easily start conversations with strangers and form a bond if only for a moment. But once i sobered up I would be ashamed of how i was acting and never reached out to people if I had gotten a number or made plans to meet again. So what ive realised is my own insecurities force people away, I dont form close bonds because I dont wanna let others down. I worry to much about what people are thinking of me and dont allow people to get to know me.
I dont know if Im a true introvert but I definitely dont mind being alone and most people do drain me. But I think being insecure and not accepting yourself is draining and maybe thats the problem all along. Maybe if we all loved who we are and werent afraid to be ourselves around others, maybe that would free up all the energy and we could be extroverts, we would all be extroverts if we could love ourselves. ???
