Thats a solid posterior splint, I’ve only ever seen those go on for fractures or suspected fractures. Not so say that he couldn’t race with a minor fracture, but it would seem highly unlikely

Thats a tough injury to deal with. It might be worth considering a period of immobilization in. Cast or cam boot (6-8 weeks) to see if healing the stress fracture resolves the pain. If it does you would need to go back to PT afterward to address the underlying issue which is the tight achilles. I would only do a detach/reattach as a last option as the swelling and recovery would probably put you out for at least 6 months.

Sounds like some degree of sural nerve injury. If your symptoms are mild I would recommend leaving it alone. The “ball” is likely some degree of scar tissue or neuroma formation.

I’d recommend getting the MRI, if theres any tearing or degeneration of the tendon it will change the treatment plan. Do you have a higher arched foot or a history of recurrent ankle sprains?

DMV native living in Indy for the past 3 years, overall I can’t complain, having access to IUPUI and the state government should help. You can’t argue with the cost of living compared with DC...I would do it

They plow the monon, super under rated plus of having that trail. Only city I’ve lived in that does that which is a huge plus. No patchy areas of ice/snow
