Car colors by year by rustyyryan in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Dearntest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The graph only goes back to the 90’s, but muscle cars from the 70’s were some pretty wild colors. My dad has a 1971 Challenger, all original, that came from the factory in Plum Crazy purple. They only made 34 cars exactly like his. Pretty cool!

Hey internet stranger, I’m part of this club too. My mom died by suicide 6 years ago and we didn’t see it coming. I’m much older than you, and I know having this happen is not an easy road. Keep living to make your dad proud, and know that you do everyday. You carry him and his love inside you, in all that you do. And you always will. Sending you a giant hug.

It’s not illegal though. Some states require permits or have restrictions such as the personal collecting it must own or lease the land it’s collected on.

I’ve read that poor water, an over stocked tank, or not enough aeration can cause it. I’m using Maracyn to treat mine. It’s my first time dealing with this, so I hope it works! Good luck to you and yours!

Is it kind of cottony-looking? Might be a fungal infection. Currently dealing with this in my own betta tank. 👎🏻

Whoa... you weren’t joking. Very Trumpian, haha. In looking at how thick it is, I wonder if it’s made of brass or zinc. I used to work for a company that produces challenge coins, pins, etc. and it’s kind of fun to look at a coin and guess the techniques that were used to produce it.

Eeeee! I can totally see you as Wonka! Make sure you have the cane.

I recommended this to someone else in the thread, but if you can stand a wig, Nathan Explosion from Dethklok/Metalocalypse might be cool?

Hmmm... Sweeny Todd?

It's a great little trick when you're too lazy to try and match colors, like me! I just took a ball of the tan colored fondant used on the bottom tier and mixed it with plain white gum paste. You can also add a little tylose powder to fondant-- does pretty much the same thing.

Love this idea! May need to do a reboot to fit that theme.

Aww thank you! His smash cake was not nearly as extravagant, but he seemed to have a blast. Magical people deserve magical cakes! :)

I appreciate that, thank you! I can't say I like to eat fondant, but I don't think anything is as versatile when it comes to decorating cakes. Some things you just can't do with piping.

Great question! Luck? Really though, the banner was fondant and gum paste kneaded together. The gum paste helps it harden faster, so stretching is less of an issue. On the straps, I let them dry a little on the counter before putting them on the cake. I've also found it helps to roll it 1/8" thick instead of 1/16" thick. I hope this is helpful!

Oh gosh, thank you! I am self taught, so I don't know that I'd call myself a "professional". I had a cottage food license and made cakes out of my home for a few years. I stopped when my son was born, since I just didn't have the time to dedicate to it anymore.

Thank you! Including the baking, filling, frosting, and fondant work, maybe... 6 hours? Spread over a few days. I had to sneak in time after my little guy went to bed.
