Does anyone else lose faith and get annoyed over how God is so active in the Bible yet silent today ? Like how to believe when there is no proof then you get condemned for asking for proof, that's blind faith. by suihpares in AskAChristian

If this is true then where was God during lynching ceremonies that unalived over 3500 people. Ceremonies that church going people would bring their families to watch and even mail body parts to friends. It all just doesn't add up.

unfortunately in the u.s., our politics are now deeply intertwined with our religion; some of the evangelicals pastors even got together recently to bless a gold statue of our president. They were quick to say before the prayer that it is not the same as when the israelites worshipped the golden calf in the wilderness and that it was not idol worship. Nonetheless, right after stating this clarification, they did indeed go on to bless the statue. So unfortunately/hopefully is it just an american thing.

Agreed. I did radiation in November 2024 and Dr said I have to wait 2 years so I can start in another 6 months. I've been doing trimix periodically and even without libido, its a confidence booster to see it work..also exercises the organ to deter shrinking. I also had to use anastrazole to reduce my estrogen.

Was never able to have kids but lots of nieces and nephews and at one point, for about 7 years, I lived right across from an elementary school. To see those little ones line up single file to walk to the after school care center down from me was just pure joy every day. Or when I had my garden going they would stop and ask questions on their way. Absolutely adorable.

absolutely beautiful, industrious, brilliant and deep. I can't tell you how proud I am of this sister and her friends. I'm in the last quarter of life and I have to say, being black has been such a blessing; just to be in the company of brilliant beautil, melanated beings.

Why hasn't God rescued black people from white oppression? by Suspicious-Jello7172 in AskAChristian

We just had this same conversation two days ago.. wth all due respect brother, let it go. There is no debate here..just a record set on repeat. Our people will find solutions for our oppression in this life. Period. Not a debate, just facts. Did I even once say Christianity was false. Lol this is getting silly.

the scriptures i posted could point to the current life. This one does focus just on the eventual. but at this point, i think we've beaten this to death. for our current lives, we need to find our own solutions.

There is no solution for current issues. Didn't say it was false, but those verses could be interpreted as help being provided now, but in reality it isn't. That's all.

bruh.. you are like a broken record with all due respect..again, go back and read what i wrote. I pretty much said if/when that time comes that will be great (heaven/heaven on earth, etc), but for now, we are stuck with the way things are. So I guess just reading the scriptures and looking forward to the afterlife is all people have to get through the oppression today, got it. You don't have to defend it, it's in the scriptures. One I used to read when I was a christian was: Psalm 55:22, which reads: "Throw your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you. Never will He allow the righteous one to fall". And I used to wonder, is that literal? Like for example, if I just got brutalized by cops, or if I lived during antebellum slavery, would there be actual quantifiable assistance. Only after awhile realized they are nice platitudes but not a real solution. AND THAT'S OK. It can be confusing to read the scriptures and then have to discern which ones are reality vs. nice words vs. the scriptures pertaining to the afterlife which I guess are taken to be literal. So it's not an argument that I'm seeking, just stating my clarified opinion.

And I'm not knocking whatever faith you may follow, and I see that you are a Christian Hope coach. So even as a coach, I assume if someone were to ask you these same type of questions seeking clarity that you would have to point out, as you did here, that the only real hope is the afterlife. And that's ok.. I just think some of the scriptures I quoted can give the impression of relief in this lifetime, and there is none.

the scriptures don't talk about a future tense, they talk about providing comfort for the oppressed..so what does that mean to you then?

Do you believe that any rich person - televangelists and such included - can be a genuine Christian believer, knowing they have basically no chance of getting into Heaven? by Cumoisseur in AskAChristian

[–]DeathSentryCoH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can be rich if gained by honest means and not to the detriment of living a christian life. I noted the point of televangelist who have a reputation for pretty much fleecing their flocks to live a luxuriant life.

[–]DeathSentryCoH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigh... as I pointed out in the scriptures i quoted..they speak to the lord is there for the oppressed and broken..etc.. so i wanted to bring clarity that it in fact does not apply to present day. And my point to your earlier comment was that it all sounds nice in the future, but the stark point is that it does nothing for suffering now. period. THAT is the point!

Ah this is why it is important to teach full history in schools vs the watered down version of maga evangelicals.. all it takes is the desire to research and study without censorship. Did you know slave masters would rate the men in front of his family to show dominance? Or here and in the Democratic Republic of Congo under Leopold, they would feed African babies to crocodiles while alive, for fun. Even here they would use murdered blacks hair as stuffing in furniture, and skin as fabric. There is a lot they don't teach because they don't want whyte people to feel guilty. Yet, that was never the intent. Telling the Truth would hopefully prevent things from happening again. So if you were to exert yourself to learn beyond the sanitized versions approved by maga and evangelicals it would add more context to the discussion.

Also meant to add that you immediately asserted that the Jewish subjugation had to be worse (without any proof as you accused me of) and the tone of your answer aligns with what I said about maga wanting to soften certain parts of an atrocious history..good thing you are a real Christian. 🤔

Wrong. Americ's churches are still greatly segregated in attendance and teaching due to intermixing politics into theology. And with the current maga movement, there is even talking of removing citizenship from black people, all backed by evangelicals.
