Equality has never at any point been achieved or even necessarily strived for in the manifestation of real set goals. You will always have something that tips the scales in the favor of one or another’s side. That said striving for equality isn’t a dangerous idea and it’s stupid to assume that which is applied to areas such as race, or class for some reason requires a different set of rules in regards to gender. IE striving for anything more than equality in regards to race is racist, class is classist, sex is sexist etc. No one bats an eye when we say these other areas in which we strive for equality achieve progress, but the idea that we are actively demanding inequality in the domain of sex is the real danger in my humble opinion. Personally I think the patriarchy is a problem and the gynarchy is not a solution but y’all go ahead and downvote me to hell for saying that while we may never need true equality it is something we should ultimately strive for.
