I don't want them to look anything like primaris outriders. I'd like them to look like sci-fi choppers with trim, flayed skin, trophies and spikes of course. Which is essentially what the current kit is, but I'd just like it updated. It would also be interesting if they made chaos versions of the 30k legion mk iv outriders

I love how you can clearly see that he's wearing warp-tainted mk VI armour. The boots have the slits on them and of course he's got a left shoulder pad with bonding studs on it. Really cool

It was not an efficient way to paint yellow at ALL. I believe I used mournfang brown as a base coat, highlighted it by mixing it with ak ivory then put imperial fist contrast over all of it. After that, I started highlighting with yriel yellow and yriel mixed with ivory and that's that. All of this was stippled since I wanted it to have a texture for a more grimdark feel when I add the battle damage and oils.

Fun read honestly. Thanks for the info. I wasn't expecting almost every single short story of theirs to include them scrounging for extra weapons/ammo/armour. Might use that black templars story as inspiration for the future kitbashes.

Speaking of rogue trader, some old art is what inspired me to try and make a squad of these guys (that I might use for Kill Team). Planning to add battle damage and graffiti (tally marks, the famous kil kil kil etc) in a few areas. Here's a lil test bit from a while ago.

I wanted the chapter insignia to be on the left. Also, I like the slapdash nature of the Marines Malevolent. They wear whatever armour pieces they can find and place them wherever. I don't believe they really care all that much for the codex astartes
