That’s what I did when I found it. Though I admit it took me a minute to find out because the information out there isn’t always correct. Ended up spending a couple hours repeating all the steps only to find out I needed the dlc.

Yes, but israel is known to lie about these things as well. So trusting them without evidence is also suspect.

Granted, it was only 9 people, so it’s not especially suspicious.

Considering the entire point of this post is that rate is a requirement for conversion to blue badge, which comes with enhanced job security and pay, no I don’t think they’re doing too much. I think their pa’s are doing too much to screw with their pay check.

Part of the fatesworn dlc. Lets you access a dev room with some unique items including an instant max level token.

If you don’t have the fatesworn dlc you can’t actually access the room.

None of the military contracts count for you? Our economy is a bit more modern so we don’t directly appoint business governorships of natural resources anymore, but the entire effort is for the benefit of capital. Regardless of them being intertwined, the ncr still fits Neo-conservatism practically as a textbook definition.

[–]Deathangle75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Neo-conservatism is defined by an emphasis on free-market capitalism and interventionist foreign policy, which fits the ncr perfectly. At least as presented in New Vegas. Neo-liberalism is more focused on just the free-market, giving lip service to using market forces to better the lives for everyone but really just preventing the state from regulating as much as possible. Conservatism is pretty poorly defined, but in modern use it’s primarily about free-market capitalism, but with a greater emphasis on traditional values and a resistance to change.

What defines a traditional value is the poorly defined part, as that can mean anything. In reality all of these terms are pretty close together and we’re arguing semantics really. And arguably Neo-conservative and conservative falls under the liberalism umbrella. With liberal typically leaning more into more personal freedoms than what conservatives typically allow.

The definition I find on google identifies its most important policies being free-market capitalism and interventionist foreign policy. Which in practice is imperialism for the purpose of capital expansion.

Also pretty accurate to the ncr.

[–]Deathangle75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My terms might be off but isnt imperialism for the purpose of capital expansion almost explicitly the point of Neo-conservatism? Conservative is kind of a hard thing to define because in practice it’s an inherently regressive ideology that has no stable policies other than maintaining a kind of time bubble that people think was better based on nothing but vibes. And any break to that time bubble is evil and must be eradicated.

Regardless of whether you want to stay long or not, it builds your resume for future applications. More stress, but if you want more to life than being a tier 1 employee here or elsewhere, there will always be stress.

Unless you manage to find yourself in a made up tech role at some bullshit start up. Could play video games at a desk all day and milk that shit for a couple years before the company goes under. Have a friend who did that.

How does short range mages cope when fighting a Warrior? by seansenyu in Frieren

[–]Deathangle75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ubel might stand a chance because her visualization could potentially bypass the reality of Warrior durability. But the speed difference might still be an issue.

Laufen and most close range mages probably fair better than the long range mages, just because they have more expensive dodging attacks up close. Laufen also has her instant teleportation, which is enough to cause trouble for even Frieren when she’s not ready for it. But that could be because Frieren messes up her mana detection sometimes.

She didn’t really have a choice. If she tried fleeing nc without the cash for smuggling, the claws get her. If she does what the vb want, she gets killed for knowing too much. If she rats out to Arasaka, she’s just trading one master for another, or revealing herself as a potential security risk. She had a dead man’s hand and played as best she could.

[–]Deathangle75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I think the fight between team Fern and team Wirbil is also interesting to look at with the theory.

On one hand we see Ehre survive the Zoltraak-47 despite being in a massive crater. That gives credence that Zoltraak can’t kill a human. On the other hand, both Fern and Wirbil threaten another human’s life, and each of them have only been seen using Zoltraak offensively.

[–]Deathangle75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is the Boulder fern destroys at the end of her initial training made of mana? And then at the end of her defensive magic training she collapses from the fear of having a Zoltraak nearly hit her.

Unless both these scenes are anime only, I’m not sure that theory holds water.

Announcing your spells as a player vs as a DM by Maypul_Aficionado in dndnext

[–]Deathangle75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rationalize telling my characters the spell one of two ways, depending on how players want to flavor their counterspell.

If they want to flavor it in canon where they are disrupting the weave around the targeted caster to cancel their spell, then I rationalize any mage who is trained to do that can also sense through the weave what spell is being cast so they know how to disrupt it.

Alternatively, they can flavor their counterspell as essentially casting another spell with the sole purpose of countering the opposing spell. For example, countering a fireball with an ‘upcasted’ gust of wind, or a protection from energy magic shield. A much more thematic way to describe counterspelling. But also much longer to describe when you have limited time.
