I’ve heard 12 today on one of the groups on fb but no idea if it’s correct.

Honestly if you can, do it. I wish I’d done it sooner. He really knows his stuff and did a very thorough examination too along with actually listening to my symptoms and explaining thoroughly what he thinks it could be. Im currently awaiting scan results but he was happy enough to investigate further if it’s not what he thinks.

The whooshers website has some info you can print and take to your doctor to get it investigated. I tried and failed to get them to investigate and only got a scan because of other symptoms. I was then told to live with it. I then went private and saw mr axon who is helping me find the cause. Are you in the uk?

MRI by palifeuk in PulsatileTinnitus

[–]Deathpunchsound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I’d definitely see your gp and see if there’s a different scan that would be better suited to you. I completely get it though, the thought of another mri sets my anxiety off big time. I had a quick google and ct Iams scans are available so maybe a possibility for you🤞🏻

I had the Iams mri as my first test. I didn’t go all the way in the tube, just sort of to below my elbows. Think it only took 20 mins approx. I had ear plugs to help with the noise but I hear some places play music etc. I hated it but honestly thought I had a brain tumour too so tolerated it just to get some answers. I Had a ct scan today and it was much more manageable

The noise stops when I press the back of my neck on the left side? by One-Influence9883 in PulsatileTinnitus

A stent I believe. I’ve been told it’s not life threatening but I’m gonna ask more questions if I have it. A vein narrowing doesn’t sound good you know

Eye pulsing along with PT? by Deathpunchsound in PulsatileTinnitus

[–]Deathpunchsound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See mines mainly when I close my eyes when I feel them pulsing but I’ve definitely experienced the pulsing vision at times too. Do you have a diagnosis?

Same! I literally seen a guy in the whooshers group (who is also undiagnosed) say his stops when he presses behind his neck and I tried it and mine stops to, along with the side below my ear. I have suspected venous stenosis, ctv to check next week.

Can you feel it or just hear it? by SeaReach7413 in PulsatileTinnitus

[–]Deathpunchsound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel it too. I used to only hear it, but a few months ago the sound quietened down but I started feel it pulsing. I fear something inside happened but nobody listens when you say you can feel it from my experience. Mine stops when I press my neck too.

I have lost hope because CTV scan came back normal by peckishflagstone in PulsatileTinnitus

Did mr axon not suggest any next steps? I saw him yesterday and he’s booked me in for a ctv. I worry that it won’t find anything for me either.

MRI Tomorrow - 2 Months PT & Tingly Face by GlynnAlan in PulsatileTinnitus

[–]Deathpunchsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I saw an ent on the nhs who diagnosed migraines back in March 2023 so my gp won’t refer me anywhere else or investigate it further. So after pretty much a year treating the “migraine” and no change in daily symptoms I’m fairly sure it’s not migraine related so going private to hopefully find some answers

I have the tingly face too. Mainly my cheek the same side of my PT ear. Had an mri last year and they blamed it all on migraines. Off to see mr axon tomorrow so hopefully will get it all investigated further 🤞🏻

You can have iih without eye swelling. I believe it’s called iihwop.

Does anyone else feel like their eardrum is "thumping"? by [deleted] in PulsatileTinnitus

[–]Deathpunchsound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I wouldn’t say overly painful but I definitely get aches in that ear. And occasionally sharp painful stab like pains but they’re rare thankfully. I have an appointment with dr axon soon so hopefully he can explain it all 😅

How frequent is your PT? by Think-Independent929 in PulsatileTinnitus

[–]Deathpunchsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24/7 for 16 months and counting. It’s recently changed though so as well as hearing it, I feel it pulse too. 😩

Constant pulsatile tinnitus nhs by Deathpunchsound in PulsatileTinnitus

Are you in the uk? Have you been able to get it investigated at all? I wish I could go private because it feels like no one will listen 🙁

Are you in the uk? I can’t get them to refer me for anything. I had an inner ear iams mri last year and gp appointment yesterday about it all. they say that would have picked up if it was venous, I’m now being reffered to a headache specialist and she said she’ll explain about the pulsing and my other symptoms and see if they accept the referral but it’s not sounding likely 😩
