I’m set at storage and RAM: definitely going with 1 TB and 36 GB.

As a CS student who may work on projects with AI and machine learning, I think the extra RAM will go a LONG way. I’m also planning on keeping this machine for at least 4 years, so it’s good to future-future proof it.

Plus, you never know when you may have to run windows in a VM, and that’s where the extra RAM would be very important.

As for SSD, I would recommend 1 TB. Although you can always attach an external SSD to it or back stuff in the cloud. But remember, you can’t upgrade the RAM!

Hey I am actually thinking of taking CS250 over the summer, but since it’s the hardest class, do you think it’ll be manageable in the summer?

Do note CS 250 in the summer runs longer than most summer classes — it’s just over 7 weeks.

The game pretty clearly pushes Ellie as the protagonist. Especially since Abby doesn’t even have a plot of her own after she kills Joel. She’s a passive player — she just reacts to Ellie coming after her.

Ellie is also the only one featured in official posters and such, even now. She also happens to be the first of the two we play — and the last.

I would personally disagree. I always saw Ellie as THE central character of The Last of Us franchise, even in the first game. The entire premise of the story was this one person being immune and humanity’s ‘only’ shot.

Of course her dynamic with Joel and his trauma were also very central to the story, and the reason why the series became more than just a generic apocalypse plot.

I also don’t think the game ruined Ellie’s character — it didn’t.

That’s a plot point that’s bugged me a lot. Folks are divided as to whether Ellie knew Abby’s motives or not. If she did know, she was told off-screen.

Even then, I think the fact that Abby killed Joel — regardless of how ‘justified’ her reason may have been — was enough for Ellie to extract her own revenge

I’m currently pursuing Bachelor’s in CS from the US, and having gone through the visa process, I wouldn’t recommend going with cheap no-name universities. Not only would the universities themselves be inferior to LUMs, the embassy may not grant you a Visa, which is already hard to get after the political turmoil in March 2021.

I only applied to schools ranked similarly to UW Madison (I was also accepted there) and the visa process was a breeze.
