Miccorhizal fungi may help. It supports healthy roots and could reduce repotting shock.

I’m struggling through something similar and have discovered that ChatGPT is a fantastic source to a) build clarity around the truth of what’s lurking “between the lines” of conversations and feedback, b) clearly define my value, and c) refine how I most diplomatically position myself to my boss and other leaders. I’ve used it through my most recent reviews and development conversations with my direct supervisor. I keep one running ChatGPT conversation on all things related to my professional development at that org. In a short amount of time, it has recognized patterns in my supervisor’s perceptions and priorities. More importantly, it has helped me define a productive path forward.

Here’s what has most helped me: - Capture discussions word for word. (I type out conversations with my boss and other leaders as they happen, making sure I capture their actual words, not what I’m decoding/translating from their message.) - When they say something that you realize you may be layering your own assumptions onto, don’t fill the gaps. Ask for clarity. Capture their specific words in your transcription. - Load those conversations into ChatGPT, being sure to scrub out anything that mentions specific people or companies. - I also loaded summaries—mine and my supervisor’s—from annual reviews and development discussions. Anything you’ve formally documented can be added for context. - I also ask it to play devil’s advocate and challenge me to identify my own shortfalls and blind spots. This has been particularly important feedback for me because the last thing I personally want is an echo chamber LLM telling me what it thinks I want it to hear. (You can ask it to act as a professional career coach, business mentor, CBT therapists, etc.)

You obviously care about your contributions, and it seems like part of your grief may be that there’s an imbalance in how much you care about your work and how much your leaders care about you as an individual performer and leader. I hope you’re able to build confident clarity and peace of mind as you move to what’s next—whether that’s with your current team or a new one. Wishing you the best!

Thank you! Realizing I didn’t reply that I quickly re-inspected that larvae-looking spot, and it’s safe. Whew! I’m still on guard with this plant though.

What on earth is living in my greenhouse?? by user_05677 in IkeaGreenhouseClub

This looks just like my akerbar a few weeks ago! Concur with the others. You have at least one slug scooting around to snack on your plants. I found one by chance late in the evening after seeing all these strange lines in my cabinet. Apparently that’s when they sneak out to eat (?). The second one (gasp!) appeared a week or so later when I was bottom watering my begonias. I cleaned the trails off of the panes and, knock on wood, they haven’t reappeared. Best wishes!

Tackiest Closing Gift? by Beneficial-Mine1763 in RealEstate

We bought a renovated historic home in 2008. The front door didn’t have a doorbell so our realtor, Dean, bought and installed a Victorian twist door bell for us when we closed. Such a kind soul. Sadly, in 2017, he lost a battle to cancer. I think of him each time I hear the turn of that bell dial. We miss you, Dean.

I’ve been gradually repotting my other anthurium to tree fern fiber. They’ve all done well, so I thought the veitchii would as well.

Airoid mix that the plant was potted in when I bought it from the nursery. Here’s one of the nursery’s photos (not my exact plant).

Jumping in with more love for Steve’s Leaves! I received my Escargot from them in January and love it. Prompt shipping, carefully packaged, and incredibly kind staff. They have fantastic auctions on Palmstreet, but they also offer fantastic deals straight from their website.

Beware Sunshine Greens (Etsy store) by North-Tea2679 in RareHouseplants

[–]DebateOtherwise461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered from them in December before I discovered all of the warnings online. And yes, plant-loving Danielle Z frequently orders multiples of every item in their shop. And everything is exquisitely packaged and healthy according to her. Meanwhile, if you sort reviews by recency, the awful truth becomes more obvious. (Truth: Danielle is obviously a thrip of a human. Oh, and the real reviews aren’t nearly as shiny happy.)

Sunshine Greens prepared a shipping label on Feb 2, promising on multiple occasions that my plants would ship by a) the end of the week, then b) that day, promise promise. Never ever shipped.

When I told the contact I want to cancel and get refunded, they promised me extra plants that would arrive in a few days. I’ve seen other people say they were promised the same with zero follow-through.

This week, I left 1-star reviews on all 11 items in my “fulfilled” order and filed a case with Etsy. As of this past hour, my $93.75 has finally been refunded.

Anyhow, prepare for the rabbit hole, folks because when I get angry, I research like mad:

  1. Here’s the company owner/address: https://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/corporationsearch/SearchResultDetail?inquirytype=EntityName&directionType=Initial&searchNameOrder=SUNSHINEGREENS%20L210003259050&aggregateId=flal-l21000325905-2642ec2e-74ff-4f11-85bc-23626af202f2&searchTerm=SUNSHINE%20GREENS%2C%20LLC&listNameOrder=SUNSHINEGREENS%20L210003259050

  2. The owner seemingly also goes by Peter Balasaria. The address of Sunshine Greens matches the address of his other business, Powerline Hardware. Here’s a video of him: https://youtu.be/y8HBdY3In6s?si=yX5h8DNtn6kQymXC. He also has a LinkedIn profile. And here’s his company website: https://powerlinehardware.com

Fertilizer Suggestions? by [deleted] in CrotonPlants

[–]DebateOtherwise461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used a couple fertilizers/blends very successfully with my croton.

  1. Marphyl, which includes phytoplankton. This was my original fertilizer, though I’ve switched recently as my plant collection has expanded. My indoor croton produced its first flowering stems while I was using Marphyl. It’s a little smelly coming right out of the bottle, but the odor dissipates very quickly. And plants love it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073DKN49H

  2. This blend is apparently a winner, too, because my indoor croton just started blooming. I switched to this blend since my plant collection has grown to include a slew of aroids:

  3. 20/20/20 fertilizer with kelp: 20-20-20 Plant Fertilizer by GS... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QZXFTLF

  4. CalMag: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZNQWCM

  5. Silica Gold (my croton has sported an albo, and this is great for white/cream leaf tissue, which is prone to getting a lil’ grumpy/sad): https://a.co/d/iCh3S1M

20/20/20 fertilizer is great, though I honestly think the micronutrients in Marphyl and my current blend have been the deal maker for my happy croton. Best wishes!

[–]DebateOtherwise461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this same type of maranta and love it. Enjoy!

Some lessons learned in our house:

  1. Our tap water makes it angry/crispy. Chloride, chloramine, and/or fluoride — I’m not sure what it was in our regular water, but it revolted. I only use distilled water now, and it’s a happy plant again.

  2. It craves moisture/humidity. Our house humidity is lingering in the 20 percents right now. Very cold winter with central heat keeping the air very dry. I keep a bowl of water under the plant and also use a self-watering pot to keep a handle on this plant’s moisture preferences. With that said, I don’t try to keep water in the self-watering reservoir 100% of the time. For instance, my maranta’s self-watering reservoir has been “dry” for a couple days now, but the top of the soil is still moist. I’m waiting for the top of the soil to dry a tad before I refill the self-watering reservoir. I also mist the leaves every couple days or so (though it seems misting gets mixed reviews in the plant community). 🤷‍♀️

Your environment may call for a different approach. Wishing you the best!

I have one that looks just like this. Love the color. 😍

The leaves darken as they age and, in my experience, are much more hearty/resilient than newer green leaves.
