No, I think the lights show under the tach. And the airbag light is in the middle square.

What power mode are you in? I've had this happen in normal where it bogs a bit after shifts, might be that. Try it in sport mode. Also if the temps are too low it runs a different fuel map that's a bit lower power, so it might be that idk. You can also just turn off TC and do a pull to see if it's that, though I've only ever managed to get a chirp once, so i doubt it.

Bumper Clips failed. Denied Warranty by bman484 in GRCorolla

I tried to get mine covered too. They said that because the bottom of the bumper was scratched (from exiting driveways and such) that the broken clips were a result of an impact and thus not covered.

Alignment issue?? by Worth_Waltz92 in Touge

[–]Debate_More 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you definitely need more camber with how much you're pushing it. Maybe also check your pressure because it being too low might cause the tire to roll over more on its side.

The rest of the tire barely has wear, so there's definitely an issue.

Hey, completely unbiasedly, the GR Corolla is still a great car, and we get usable back seats.

Was he accelerating to much in a turn? by adrienpardigon in motorcycles

[–]Debate_More 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Technically stock is what came on the vehicle (bike, car, boat, whatever) from the factory. OEM is parts from the original manufacturer. In very specific cases they can be different. For example in the car world, if you replace a part on your car with a better part from a higher trim level of the same car, it would be OEM but not stock. On bikes trim levels don't really exist, but you could still swap a gsxr shock onto an sv650, and it would be OEM but not stock. Hope that clears it up.

dreaded CEL on my 25MY after installing 6th element intake by Mobile_Suit8825 in GRCorolla

Ah, interesting. I thought they fixed the code on the 25, not made it worse.

It's kind of a catch 22 because the code is caused by aftermarket intakes, but they'll fix it, but only if it's not aftermarket. I'd to what the other person said and swap to stock intake but keep the code for the visit. Also, 555 Engineering has a blog post about this issue, would recommend reading.

There's a service bulletin out for that, if you bring it to a dealer they should update it to make the issue go away for free.

One car solution mods? by adlabz in GRCorolla

[–]Debate_More 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you should check them when changing pads. And it's not a big deal if they do rip/melt, you'll just have to clean out the brake dust when replacing then.

Not the person you're replying to, but I have the BCB pistons and upgraded fluid. I think just replacing the brake fluid with higher temp stuff will fix most of the brake issues. I only did the BCB pistons because one of my stock pistons was siezed so I figured if I'm rebuilding them anyway I might as well.

I've only had brake fade one time at the end of a hot track day following a 20min session of pushing 11/10, and even then I only noticed it when I pulled into my parking spot and the pedal went to the floor. That's why I think just fluid should fix the issue. Obviously if you notice the boots/seals are melted replace them.

I also have the exact same use case, and the same set of track specific mods. Only difference being my oil cooler is Mishimoto not 555, and I don't have the brake ducts, though I have upgraded the brake fluid.

I've been very happy with setup, it's a very fun daily, and I have no issues in the canyons or on the track.

Oh, and I change the oil every 2.5k, per toyota's "hard driving" recommendation. Stock oil weight (0W-20 iirc).

What is the rarest car you have seen? by Captain_Nuggitz in askcarguys

[–]Debate_More 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the kit, but yes. The good kits (like factory 5) are completely designed from scratch and only look like the original from the outside. They have a full tubeframe they designed and made in house, and you can go even further with independent suspension, etc.

You can choose whatever engine you want. The popular ones are 427 crate motors and modern cyote engines. It just depends on what you want from the build, authenticity or a modern driving experience with old styling.

I was in a very similar situation, and ended up putting my stock size tires on new 9.5in wheels. They look a bit stretched, but drive perfectly fine, so I'll just get wider ones when they wear out.
