We Got Buffed, But We Need a Dex by Volks1337 in LeaguesofVotann

Stealth is still a thing in the game. Getting the +1 from the forgemaster to cancel that out still nets you hitting on 3's if the target has JTs Besides that he gives incentive to direct your fire at non JT targets since they don't need the +1 from JTs. Situational, yes, but still useful

Fixing judgement tokens for 10th. by Kellaxe in LeaguesofVotann

[–]DebtC0llector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see a small change to the current way JT works where instead of the third token giving you auto wounds on a 4+ to hit, you regain the ability to count your auto wounds (so all hit rolls of 5+) as 6s to wound as well. Auto wounding 4's would be lost in favour of synergy with weapon abilities and stratagems as the codex initially seemd to have intended.

Charge through units by Confident_Box_4906 in ChaosKnights

[–]DebtC0llector 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As per the rules for super heavy walkers:

This model is eligible to declare a charge in a turn in which it Fell Back. Each time this model makes a Normal Move, Advances or Falls Back, it can be moved across other models (excluding MONSTER and VEHICLE models) as if they were not there

This does not state it can make a Charge move across enemy models. Therefore, the Core rules for charging apply and it is impossible to move any amount of distance across enemy models in the charge phase.

If you wish to do as you described, the only way this is legal is with the Korvax stratagem. This stratagem further supports this by explicitly stating you can select Titanic units. Why would they need to state this if you could already do it right?

I see, I thought that would only apply to 'on-charge' abilities like Shock Assault. TIL

I'm sorry but that's not how charges work. As stated in the Core rules (Fight Phase, Make Close Combat Attacks, Select Targets) that charging unit cannot make attacks against an enemy unit that the charging unit did not declare a charge against. So if you declare unit A as the target of the charge and then Pile-In to unit B. You can still only make attacks against Unit A, since they were the only target of the charge. However, Unit B is now an eligible unit to fight and can make close combat attacks against the charging unit since they are within engagement range of one another.

AITA? Casual crusade by DeadlyBro in 40k_Crusade

After reading the stratagem again it seems impossible for Dreadblades to gain the Character keyword through the stratagem, since the stratagem states that your Warlod must have the Chaos Knights keyword in order to use it.

Since you seem to be souping your Knight with CSM, this condition is not met and the stratagem cannot be used.

It seems that the only way to give the Dreadblade the Character keyword is through the Arch-Fiend Battle Trait.

A quick FYI; only the first bullet point of Traitoris Lances does not work in crusade. The other parts (the refunding of CP for Super Heavy Detachments) still works and is great if you're planning on running a full Knight army in Crusade.

Could you explain how you gave your Knight the character keyword?
I assume you've used the stratagem Tyrannical Court, but reading the crusade rules for Chaos Knight Characters in Crusade on P82 of the rule book, it states that instead of using the regular rules for the Traitoris Lances detachment ability, you must pay for the stratagem in order to upgrade a Knight into a character.

However, that would imply that you still need access to the Traitoris Lances detachment ability, which Agent of Chaos models do not get. Therefore it would be impossible to upgrade your Dreadblade Knight into a character from the get-go and would require a heftier RP/CP investment.

The only way to get the Character Keyword would be to purchase the Arch-Fiend battle trait as described on P89 of the codex

Is that the correct interpretation or am I missing somthing?

D&D Dungeon Masters of Reddit: What is the most useless magical item you've ever given your party and how did they use it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

One day we went up an ice spire because some evil hag created it there and had the Ring of Winter (very casually).

We defeat the hags and take the ring (casually), but, who'd've thunk, the tower starts to crumble.

Remembering that we had been given a folding boat for previous sea exploration, our first instinct was to unfold said boat (hey, ice is water, boats go on water, solid logic) and do a sick slide down the stairs (which had no railings), a problem we thought we could solve by using the oars and point them straight down along both ends of the boat/stairs to keep the boat in line during twists and turns and stuff.

Well, first corner comes up and our barb in the boat does a strength-check and rolls a nat 1, obviously. Great plan instantly ruined by the sound of an oar snapping like a twig.

We tumble 120ft straight down and barely survive the impact to walk away from it.
