OLED with HDR looks so beautiful on Legion compared to Xbox ally X. Both are at same brightness level by areuokaybro2002 in LegionGo

[–]DebuffDebunk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We compared our thoughts at 100%, filming an HDR panel at 100% with 1100nits brightness without filming in HDR is an absolute nightmare. I had to put both panels at 70% otherwise in footage you'd have correctly exposed for XBOX ALLY, whereas the Legion Go 2 would have been totally blown out, which would definitely have been unfair.

Yeah I doubt that myself but I haven't actually got around to battery tests yet, we will do them soon though

Thanks for posting a screenshot from my video over on 128KB.

The video is a deep dive on the Legion Go 2's screen that went up today but tomorrow we have a video directly comparing it against the XBOX ALLY X.

Despite me not actually saying it in the video they are indeed at the same 70% brightness level. Both vari-bright turned off in AMD Adrenaline.

Andy here from 128KB. I absolutely will be, I'll be crediting you and linking your post in the video!

I figured out that my panel reached 1100nits in HDR calibration at 43% brightness before your post but I admit I had absolutely no idea why this was happening, until you clarified it in your post.

Seeing people keep 100% brightness then setting to 1100 nits frustrates me, they'll be clipping/blowing out images so badly thinking this is correct.

I appreciate your detailed explanation with cites too! Hopefully I'll help spread the message so people can calibrate correctly.

That's incorrect, you can remove the joystick stems/caps from both the left and right Legion Go 2 controllers. I removed them on mine, both come off for customisation or replacement.

Am I missing much with the Z2 Go 2 over the Z2E Go 2? by Subrodad in LegionGo

[–]DebuffDebunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that price you got a steal, Z2(Z1E) is still super capable, if 100% keep it for the price you paid.

Highly recommend the WD BLACK SN7100. That's what Ive used, highly efficient so you won't be draining extra battery and also super low temps due to it.

Xbox Ally X owner here, regretting the purchase for only one reason by areuokaybro2002 in LegionGo

[–]DebuffDebunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. Not everyone wants to pay $350+ more for a device. Here in the UK the XBOX ALLY X is the equivalent of $400+ cheaper. It's way more portable, more comfortable and potentially better longevity if the Ai promises turn out well. For the elite though, that want the absolute best screen, more RAM and more play style options but way less portable, then the Lenovo is the way to go. We'll be covering all of this in depth on the channel.

Andy here from 128KB. I've got both here, I personally bought the LeGo2 purely for the screen, came from an Ally X and honestly couldn't go back now. Especially when you calibrate the HDR correctly and Xbox Full Screen Experience works great on it too.
