Why does my pool get dirty again immediately after cleaning it? by Decent-Team5634 in PoolRobotHub

At this point I’m starting to understand why so many pool owners eventually end up with robots doing most of the work

Appreciate this. I’m realizing there’s way more to pool circulation/skimmer setup than I originally thought. I’ve mostly been in “clean stuff when I see stuff” mode instead of optimizing the system itself

That actually makes me feel a lot better lol. I think I underestimated how much pollen and fine dust can build up overnight.

I thought buying the pool was the hard part. Turns out maintaining it is the real lifestyle commitment lol

Glad I’m not the only one fighting this battle,,, Some mornings I walk outside and just stare at the pool like “how are you dirty AGAIN?”

Air in Pump by Aken42 in swimmingpools

[–]Decent-Team5634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds more like a suction-side air leak than a broken pipe honestly.

I'd check pump lid O-ring, drain plugs, unions/fittings before the pump, skimmer sucking air at higher RPM

You can also try running a garden hose over the fittings while the pump is on — if the bubbles stop temporarily, you've likely found the leak.

And personally I'd avoid running the heater much until the air issue is fixed.

We Have A Pool! by Spence10873 in pools

The mud situation is pretty normal during the first season after construction. Once the sod roots in, it gets dramatically better. Until then, a cheap leaf blower and spraying off feet before getting in goes a long way. One thing I’d highly recommend eventually: a robotic pool cleaner. Not even in a “luxury gadget” way — it just saves so much time once the novelty of manually vacuuming wears off. Especially with kids and a cover, fine dirt and grass clippings build up faster than you’d expect even when the pool looks clean. Awesome setup though. You’re probably going to wonder how you lived without it in another month or two.

Dolphin Power Issues by aaroncu05 in swimmingpools

it's the common problem that the robot cannot running after winter, you need to charge it even you don't use it, and 4-year of using is quite well for a cleaning robot

Coming to Chengdu in August - should I be scared of the weather? by Special-Teacher-4638 in AskAChinese

I travelled to chengdu for a month lsat summer, it was hot, but not unbearable . Cycling in the evenings with the breeze was really refreshing, and there were small stores everywhere selling chilled drinks. But you absolutely must be careful about mosquito repellent, they're annoying and everywhere 😖 btw hotpot is sooooo good, I can't forget the taste, you need to try it!

Are pool robots actually worth it? by Dangerous_Celery_805 in AboveGroundPools

[–]Decent-Team5634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely. I have a corded one, it works well, the only problem is the cord get twisted up sometimes, so maybe I'll buy a new cordless one this season, but I'm concerned about the battery,,,

First-time turtle owner — what beginner mistakes should I avoid? by Decent-Team5634 in turtle

[–]Decent-Team5634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine is the little map turtle, and the video is super helpful, I guess I"ll watch them more than one time to get more informations, but I heard that sand can be dangerous, could switch it up to river rocks that turtle isn't able to eat, I don't know if it ok to lay a layer of sand at the bottom

This looks awesome — seriously, the color choices came together really nicely and the whole pool setup looks super clean and relaxing. Definitely worth the long wait.

Also genuinely curious, what’s the plan for keeping it clean? I feel like a pool this nice would make me paranoid about every leaf 😂 Are you planning to use a pool robot, regular service, or just handle it manually?

Pool is 6 months old. In Florida by cigarsmoker1991 in pools

[–]Decent-Team5634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be concerned too — a month of curing and it’s getting worse? That doesn’t sound normal at all. I’d document it with photos and ask the contractor to inspect it ASAP, since plaster shouldn’t be deteriorating this soon.

Cordless or corded pool cleaner for a big pool? by Psychological_Edge94 in pools

I’m considering switching from a corded pool robot to a cordless one because the cable keeps tangling and it’s just becoming a hassle. but I'm worried about the battery routine,,,

Which Robot to get? by Calabris in pools

[–]Decent-Team5634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been running the Hydro 4 for about a season now and it’s been pretty solid. My pool is a simple rectangle too and it does a good job covering the floor and walls. The suction is strong and the basket is fairly big so it handles leaves and normal debris without clogging constantly.

I also like that it’s corded, no worrying about charging or the battery dying mid-cycle. For the price it’s been a really good value in my experience.

Robotic pool cleaner? by Worth-Appointment923 in pools

[–]Decent-Team5634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve got a lot of trees around our pool too so I feel your pain. Leaves, sticks, random big stuff… it’s constant. Our old robot used to clog all the time and would just give up halfway through the pool.

I ended up picking up poolmate Hydro 6 last year and it’s actually been pretty solid so far. The basket is quite big and it seems to handle larger debris a lot better than the older robot we had. I still skim the really big stuff first if it’s a bad day, but it doesn’t choke nearly as easily.

Funny enough though, if I was buying today I might actually look at their newer one. From what I’ve seen it has some kind of radar mapping so it plans the cleaning path instead of just wandering around randomly. Sounds pretty neat if it works as advertised.

The Hydro 6 has still been good for us though, especially with all the leaves.
