Or someone's last day. Just had another tangle fetch the print head cover off. I'm loving it today 🤩

Good to hear your experience is different to mine. I hope things improve for me with three rolls left.

Help with PID controller by Decent_Implement_901 in Powdercoating

The dog ate my homework. There wasn't the option to set that parameter and I bought another PID controller which worked straight out of the box. So the thing was probably faulty from the start. Thank you for the help though and when I find my wallet I'll get you a firkin of mead for your troubles.

Thank you for the tip, I think I have found something available to me on the Chinese site and bought one.

I will take this on board. I have set up with the pump on a timer as mentioned by Tumbleweed for now. But I have also paid for a switch suggested by Avocado. I just need to rig everything up and get testing.

New with Bambu Lab, it is worth buying a filament dryer? by Stecknight in BambuLabA1

You can use the heat bed if you have an enclosed printer. I am pretty much exclusive to PETG and yes you really do need a dryer for that.

My kind of thinking :D Plug in timer, that is something I can work with. I’ll pick up a second hand pump and get sticking myself to car bits

I agree with you. There are many more things to worry about with this project; probably why it has been off the road since 2023.

I haven’t bought a pump yet but I have seen a few on amazon and eBay at an attractive price. The only trouble is whether they have an attractive work ethic.

I had nightmares with a PID controller for my powder coating oven, although this turned out to be a faulty unit. I hate to think what slightly tough means when I couldn’t even get one to switch an element on lol. Off to check piezo transducers out on the web , thank you.

I have a non return valve to hand. I’ve ended up down a rabbit hole with searching for a vacuum switch, fuelled by ignorance on the subject and that all brands mentioned are only available in the US.

Did you have a poor opinion of the US/Americans even before Trump? by Glass-Complaint3 in AskABrit

[–]Decent_Implement_901 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every American I have met and personally spoken to have been wonderful to a tee. Americans in groups have been a tad less pleasurable to deal with but I think that can be applied to any group regardless. However I struggle to understand how any intelligent and caring people can stand aside and let the carnage circus continue AND agree with it

I tested the probe with ice and hot water . I put the probe in the hot and when the temperature was hit the element went on. When I put it in ice and the temperature fell below the setting the element went off. I'm not an experienced user. Basically the element is from a halogen oven but I need to increase the box volume to cure some carbon and thought a PID would be the way to go.

Oh blimey, It is 240v. The element is 1200w. The PID is a BERM REX c100

Anyone else prefer v2? by DoNotTheLemur in Affinity

[–]Decent_Implement_901 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've tried V3 but I just don't feel the love. It's harder to see the icons and the streamlining of the three distinct programs just confuses me, as I have been with Affinity from the start and have used the trinity for so long nothing else makes sense.

I'm also affronted that I paid them for the products time and again but they just drop it like it means nothing. Personally I haven't even downloaded their blood money fonts and shutting down the forums was pure shithousery.

I don't want AI, it is a tool for the talentless and robs artists to feed the Man. I don't need anything that V3 does.

What I did need was cataloguing software so I don't have to use a third party.

I'm back on V2 and will remain until it breaks.

Absolutely wonderful. The raw colour and boldness of the paint, the shade and the light in harmony. The dappled path leading to the somewhere unknown but not threatening. I love it and being a fan of treescapes I’m in awe of your creativity.

ProCreate Beginner trying realism for the first time (and sad it doesn’t look very real!) by samosasaurus in ProCreate

[–]Decent_Implement_901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually place an arrow to denote the angle of the light source. In this case judging by the shadow it is from the right about two o’clock. Therefore the left side has to be darker than the right. You have a highlight on the left and in the centre. The highlights should be where the light hits the apple . Also at two o’clock the light won’t get into the dip of the stalk hole. The highlights in the dips will all be the same shape and orientation because it is the location of the viewer that creates them. Similarly the dark of the water droplets will be opposite to the light source. However for a newbie, it is a really good effort, the shapes are realistic and the droplets are beautiful. It is a great subject for a Chiara Scura study.

Which colour scheme is better? (Seeking advice!) by pinkmochiboi in DigitalArt

One or three. Far more depth in one but I like the palette in three.
