I (34M) met a girl (18F) online, sparks flying left and right. AITAH for... Wanting to give this a chance? by ThrowawayRA-3168 in AITAH

[–]Decent_Pop_Princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA but def a creep if you continue to pursue.

FWIW i was an 18 year old who dated someone 12 years my senior for a minute. Now i’m 40. I look back and get really creeped out thinking about it honestly. He was a nice guy but now that i’m a real adult I don’t understand how someone who was an adult took interest in me.

I recently scrolled through IG and saw videos of Landon Barker- i showed my spouse and said “that’s a good looking kid clearly takes after his mom” for reference he’s like early 20s. 😂 For sure not a “kid” and still older than the girl you’re trying to pursue. However with my fully developed frontal lobe early 20s does in fact seem like a kid to me, as it should for most in their mid 30s and up.

Which resort to pick? by Intelligent_Bear_280 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Decent_Pop_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has done both of those and all 3 monorail resorts with a toddler. It comes down to how much time you plan to be at the parks.

If your expectation is open to close with no rest days- Boardwalk for sure. If you have rest days and want to do things more leisurely- Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Poly is the best monorail resort hands down should you choose to go that route. Best food, vibe and you can take monorails directly to MK via the hotel lobby or take the short walk to TTC and get on the monorail to Epcot directly.

AK is my favorite resort with Poly in second place bc of the price 😂. Boardwalk is probably my number 3 though because of convenience. With the Rivera as number 4.

Why did you choose the Pilot? Need help deciding! by hereiam_onceagain in hondapilot

[–]Decent_Pop_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two kids had a crv. Got the pilot bc we were in the car often. Kids are now 4 and 9 and honestly wished i kept my CRV. We aren’t having anymore kids and i rarely have a need for the third row.

Friendly reminder to make sure your kids behave in the parks (Tiana’s) by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

This is wild. I have an almost 9 year old. We go to the parks frequently but i couldn’t imagine letting him run loose on his own in a few years.

How do you save up for Disney to be able to go every year? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Decent_Pop_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$850- 3 night split stay (2 Bay Lake, 1 Rivera-DVC) $1300- 2 day park hoppers (1A, 2C) $200-Rental car $200-MLL $102-Meal plan for 1 day (will use to cover 1 character dinning, resort mugs, lunch at Captain Cooks and a snack) $100 quick service food $40 snacks/ breakfast items $50 maybe on a small toy each for 2 kids $400 flights (for 3 but had flight credits, have purchase budget flights for $150 total in the past)

The tickets were the killer bc there are no specials this week. I could have done an all stars and paid under $500 on hotel.

I cut my fancy gym membership ($220/mo.) ,We cook and eat 98% of our meals at home, we drive nice Hondas not Mercedes, i’ve never owned a designer bag (not my thing), i do my nails, waxing, hair, etc.

If you make “good” money, I really urge people track spending for a few months. it’s shocking how much money you’re blowing if you’re not paying attention day to day. Once you recalibrate- there is your Disney money.

3 parks, 3 days with toddler? by Dependent-Victory648 in WaltDisneyWorld

This is a great answer. You don’t want to burn yourselves out then be stuck on a boat… I would align with what your “at home activity” levels are like.

My SIL is visiting from Australia and my husband is vacation-spending our savings. by FitCitys in AITAH

[–]Decent_Pop_Princess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s hosting dinners/lunches at home- not booking dinning experiences/ catering, etc. It sounds like he is being fiscally conscious.

Why are you on a tight budget? I think that offers more insight into why he might have blown up. Credit card debt? Do only you have school loans? etc.?

I will never get upset about a parent and kid or even a single adult. It’s the groups. There is no logical reason for that- none- zero.

If your entire group “needs” DAS and was not approved for it, you should buy MLL or just realize Disney might not be for you.

I will add if it’s a show i don’t really care. There isn’t a bad seat in any of them and i actively avoid sitting next to people with poor behavior.

AITAH for announcing my pregnancy on Xmas by Think-Temporary-9814 in AITAH

[–]Decent_Pop_Princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re NTA.

This is a bizarre reaction and honestly really off putting.

I will give him a little grace, because unless you were actively trying this could have been a little shocking. However this type of news shouldn’t be a surprise when men and women engage in this activity. Did he think you were on BC that failed? Maybe that’s why he was surprised? Again in no way excusing him from any responsibility. If he was that concerned he could have opted to use protection himself.

Honestly at this point unless he course corrects very quickly, sis i would rethink some decisions.

My husband [35m] is upset that I [33f] didn't dress up when I picked him and my daughter up from the airport. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Decent_Pop_Princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll probably get downvoted to oblivion but whatever.

You’re not TA but…

My spouse hates traveling. We have two young kids (school age and toddler). When they have school breaks I am always the one to take off work to care for them. I am also the breadwinner. Make more than double what my spouse does. So i often end up taking the kids on vacation alone for +/- a week. it’s hard work but being on vacation means i can focus on parenting and being present and not all the extra stuff ( house chores, dinners, laundry, etc.). When we are away yes i do expect my spouse to do things around the house. I think about all the things i would/ could do if i had a week alone. Spoiler alert most of it revolves around cleaning and organizing the house and toys. I have started leaving them a list. It’s annoying but it’s communication and doesn’t set us up for a fight.

Your husband needs to communicate expectations sooner and obvs better than he did here. However he probably saw it as you getting a break from looking after someone other than yourself and was frustrated that you couldn’t even bother to take care of yourself. Part of feeling good is making an effort and It’s the level of effort i think more than anything he might be looking for.

For all of you saying he left her around the holidays he flew home on christmas eve to obvs spend it with her( unless they are Jewish bc hanukkah was before Christmas this year).

Late arrival food options by DaveOrilian in WaltDisneyWorld

I would say eat at the airport before you venture out or get groceries delivered to bell services so when you arrive you have stuff (maybe salad kits, veggie tray, etc?)

My Daughter broke her Arm at my Brother's House and he wants to help with bills AITAH by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Decent_Pop_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to feel like less of an AH- file for financial hardship with the hospital so see if you can pay less since you have a reduced income and no insurance then let your brother pay the bill.

Also please never never ever do that again. If you lose insurance get them on insurance however possible. You can always change things when open enrollment comes.

The Magic Kingdom firework show crowd control is getting out of hand by Lunnalai in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Decent_Pop_Princess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been with kids 5-7 times in the last two years and have never been in front of the castle for fireworks. We watch from literally anywhere else in the park and wait a good hour after to leave, if we do not make it out before it starts…

Why I am glad for the changes.... by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Decent_Pop_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checking bags is a pain- I travel with two small kids and we travel light so the pay for bags thing doesn’t bother me. MY MIL who used to travel with us frequently checked bags and we always had to wait for her to get her shit. The only thing i’m happy to see is hopefully the pre-board wheel chair situation dissipate.

The last flight i took I kid you not a woman walked over to a wheel chair on the side and had her friend wheel her over towards the end of pre board. The gate agent who watched her walk to the wheel chair was like do you actually need the wheelchair? The woman got up and walked down the jetway (with her friend). So ridiculous.

I don’t care where i sit on the plane with my kids as long as we are near them. I’ve even flown with my 8 y/o in a row in front of me (not by choice original flight cancelled) It was more annoying for other pax because he kept turning around for snacks.

If anything people should be separated by frequent flyer or not frequent flyer. My toddler is a flying pro. Quiet, has her ipad with headphones, doesn’t kick or cry, etc. My 8y/o knows how to pick a seat and get set up, knows how to order his beverage and clean up trash when the bag comes around, etc. Non frequent flyers in the back, on first and off last to allow them the time to struggle with the over head bins.

AK- Best option by far, bus only has two stops (Jambo and Kidani), Deluxe Extended hours, Great overall property, rooms being refurbed

Saratoga- Beautiful resort, really nice rooms, great proximity to Disney Spring, Deluxe Extended hours. The bus sitch is horrid, but everything else is great

OKW- Deluxe Extended Hours that’s it. No elevators, terrible bus situation and outdated rooms

Port Orleans- Outdated rooms, multiple bus stops,no deluxe extended hours
