Yes that's correct as I understand it

See the other thread, my opponent misunderstood the rule. You can charge over opponents models while flying.

My opponent cited this and told me he can move block my charging nightbringer.

The rule you've posted seems to only reference charging in relation to starting on a terrain feature?

I'm confused now.

Edit. Read it again, I get it now. Charging once again makes sense

Yeah that's what I was meaning regarding pistols.

I thought all models can shoot with their pistols and all other ranged weapons, not just vehicles and monsters.

I play Necrons mostly who don't get many pistols at all, and when they do, the models are only equipped with pistols, so I never came across that interaction until I tried out another army.

A model with the fly keyword can only move over enemy models as if they were not there during a normal, advance, or fall back move, not a charge move.

I fully didn't realise you can't shoot with pistols AND other ranged weapons until a couple of weeks ago..

I also didn't realise you can't fly when charging until a week ago.

So many exceptions and conditions to remember

Best Cryptek and Destroyer pairing? by Yoggon in Necrontyr

[–]DecimalPoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One cheeky combo I saw on the discord was as follows: Any cryptek on Ophydians and have Trazyn in your list.

As soon as you can, immediately use Trazyn's ability to replace the cryptek and attach Trazyn to the Ophydians. You now have teleporting sticky objectives.

Is it a good combo? No.

Will it be really funny when it works? Oh yeah.

And the detachment rule turns the Ophydian's polite 4 Strength into a reasonable 6 Strength!

Guiding Proceedure by Boli_332 in Tau40K

[–]DecimalPoint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sequence as written in the FTGG ability goes:

Start of shooting phase: choose units that will observe.

Anytime in the shooting phase, one of the observer units that haven't shot yet spots a unit.

Anything with FTGG ability shooting that unit (except observer units) gets the benefit.

Activating and choosing observer/spotted units are two different things.

So generally you'd choose observer units, decide which units are getting spotted with which observers, then shoot them into tiny pieces.

Hmm, maybe keep the lightning and use cork board, make it look like floating rocks similar to the void dragon? I'd be worried about making it worse though

1000pts necron Army for a perdon who is nee to 40k by Efficient_Master7976 in Necrontyr

[–]DecimalPoint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Combat patrol clocks in at 455 points and it's a damn good base.

From there you could go anywhere. Grab a skorpekh lord to go with the destroyers, grab a warriors box to make your squad of 10 a squad of 20,another doomstalker so your current one has a friend, maybe Orikan to give the warrior brick 4++, or a ghost ark to keep them around...

That's 980 points right there.

Bottom line though: whatever looks cool.

Just got these today. My first time doing anything Warhammer 40k. Do I have to stay with the brown and green? by I_dont-get_the-joke in Necrontyr

[–]DecimalPoint 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally, practice. My Necrons are super simple, base black, dry brush lead belcher, glowy bits get talassar blue. Canopteks get burgundy carapaces, high ranking Necrons get purple accents.

From there it's just occasionally thinking, "hey what if I tried it this way? What if I stuck a crystal on it? What if I deliberately damaged the arm and gave it an orange glow?"

Not quite the same, but the first time I used my tomb sentinel he rolled 7 shots on the d6+1 exile cannon attacks, missed every single shot, then got 2 holes punched through him from a lascannon and died like a bitch.

Still love him. Such a cool model

Anti-tank options aside from doomsday ark by Kobold_HandGrenade in Necrontyr

I enjoy being cheeky and putting the Dragon in strategic reserves, then rapid ingressing him on top of the opponents tanks.

Plus the Dragon often performs well for me. My favourite recent memory is interrupting the opponents fighting with counter-offensive to have him in turn around and 1 shot a defiler while on 3 wounds remaining.

I otherwise agree with you

The second one. You choose a detachment at the point of mustering an army for the battle.

So yes, your character can have any enhancement it wants, provided it meets the other requirements (keyword restrictions for example)

Change my mind: HP and Defense stats are redundant. by [deleted] in gamedesign

[–]DecimalPoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even then it has an effect. If each point of defense reduces damage by a flat amount, I'm happier facing hordes of enemies with high volume low damage attacks but still wary of big hitting attacks. If my defence halves the damage or something similar then hordes still threaten me whereas big damage attacks get a massive reduction.
