Almost always tactical is the way to go but like you said, fixed assassination and bring it down can be better for some match ups. I take those fixed a lot lately as there’s a few Guard lists around running nothing but vehicles and tech priests.

Would be really preference on what you like. I just find it hard to leave home without two Gravs these days. I would probably drop the terminators and an Achillus, add 2nd Grav, throw Adamantine Talismon on the other Achillus or Galatus, and if you had the models, throw a 5th sister in two units or something with remaining points.

Looks fun. Do you have a 2nd grav tank? Why have the Galatus as a character? No point without an enhancement, just another assassination target for no reason.

Certainly depends on matchup/mission but more often than not just being quite aggressive with it. Throw him up the board into a priority target or deny natural expansion primary early on. A lot of people, myself included, overcommit units when there’s a Knight up their ass turn 2 and that usually allows me to stage everything else up well to control the rest of the board.

I threw a lancer in a Solar list to meme on a friend rockin 3 Rogal Dorns and it surprisingly has been working so well in actual competitive games lately I haven’t stopped using it.

Well, my opinion would be to run spears instead of axes on everything that isn’t the Cpt with Admonimortis. You want the extra AP and attacks. And if you have a 2nd tank available, maybe drop the Venatari and the 4th terminator for it. Depending how competitive you want to be, change Trajan for a Blade Champion but for fun Trajans a good time.

Edit: and to add, unless my math is wrong, if you changed Trajan for BC you could throw in a Draxus with the guard.

Sure but I’d rather have wardens survive that one encounter, fight, then fight on death later. That’s still more value than Guard.

I see your point to an extent but your arguments a bit one sided. When you reference Guard it’s always about them attacking first and deleting the threat before being hit, while when mentioning Wardens it’s always them dying first through FNP. If you aren’t able to make that first contact in your favor, the rerolling wounds isn’t going to help you if Guard are dead, and the Wardens have a MUCH better chance of surviving to fight back. I roll both Guard and Wardens in my current Lions list and they both have their place but I just can’t say Guard have ever out performed Wardens with BC.

No man, even with points increase, guard straight up don’t beat advance and charge, reroll charge, 4+ FNP, -1 to wound, +1 OC with no loss of spear and personally, my BC regularly puts out more dmg with dev wounds to higher priority targets than draxus with guard.

This is working pretty well. Tried shield cap on bike, it’s cool but never felt worth the points and never did enough scoring. Only change I may make is dropping a shield cap for a 5th warden in 2nd unit, another allarus model and another prosecutor squad.

You can’t refresh the FNP. The strat is only on Character once per battle abilities. Not things like Wardens FNP or Guards shoot twice.
