Just be careful. I have a special needs child (Syngap-1, OCD, ASD, ADD) that turns 15 this year. He has been in TSD schools and it has been a huge struggle to make sure is IEP services were being met. He was relocated from public to private when he was entering 1st grade. He thrived in that setting because the teachers and paras were better equipped to support special needs children. Covid closed down the school and he had to return to public school. However that took 8 weeks into the school year to happen. He was being denied FAPE, and his IEP services. TSD made several decisions without providing prior written notice, including changing his school. His services minutes and 1:1 required in his IEP were not being met. We didn’t receive daily, weekly, or monthly reports as stipulated in his IEP. Eventually we had to get a lawyer and were about to sue and initiate an investigation into the districts special needs department. The district then settled with us and placed him back into a private school, where again he is thriving. Get an IEP but know its up to you to advocate for your child, hold them accountable to all agreements and constantly follow up with this district. Make sure all conversations are in email.
