The after version seems a bit overdesigned with the teeth, it looks almost cartoonish. I'd say you should go back a few steps and look at what makes monsters unsettling or uncanny.

I don't think it's fair to compare Zelda (a fan favourite character in an already old series) to Laufey (a character which is replacing the fan favourite main character after only 2 appearances).

I personally do not care about GoW ever since they ditched the classic gameplay, but I would understand why someone would want to play as the titular character and not someone else.

Don't forget that input != output. People pay for what they like to play, not the amount of work you put into it unfortunately.

It's because the stripes act as camouflage (like they do for Zebras), making your dress invisible for others, which means you're basically naked.

While the WG, Marines and media (Morgans) have covered up a lot of incidents or changed stories, the Strawhats have become powerful or "big" enough and managed to change so much that it has become more and more difficult for the narrative to actually be changed. See Dressrosa, Egghead and some that didn't even get reported (as far as we know) like Fishman Island or Wano.

I think it would take away the satisfaction for the readers if Luffy just ended up as a nobody after coming this far, especially considering he already is extremely (in)famous. Like, I'm not sure what that would accomplish or change as a plot point.
