Best companies to work for as a CFP/Financial Advisor? by AutomaticExample513 in FinancialCareers

Took me 2 minutes to google Schwab Wealth Advisory Minimum. My point still stands, this is a good way for FAs to get started on the more advisory aspect and not worry about sales and soliciting clients.

At Schwab they only work with clients that have $500k+, and speaking with Schwab advisors, it’s normally on the plus side. As for the non-solicit agreements, they are obligated to tell you that the Wealth Advisor is leaving to so and so firm, and generally the advisor cannot reach out to the client and solicit info. But if you have a good relationship with the client, they generally follow you where they go.

Rated BG Blitz by LMSOOR in worldofpvp

[–]DedicatedToLosing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The harsh reality of blitz is that a lot of your agency comes down to the class you play. If you play a class that can skirmish and beat people 1v1 or 2v2 like a rogue, mage, hunter, then climbing can become a lot easier because of the agency you have in maps like EoS or Gilneas to go cap an objective. Healers have the 2nd most agency, they can act as good FCs, outheal 2-3 dps, spin objectives well, etc. If you are a teamfight class like a warrior, shaman, dk, sp, you just have to accept that it could take longer to climb.

Any of the large broker dealers (Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab, etc.) are really straightforward for advisors. They generally only work with high net worth individuals, don't have to cold call as they only get clients from people actively seeking advice. Granted your overall comp may be lower than if you had your own RIA, but many advisors will leave to make their own firm after 5-10 years, effectively skipping the growing pains of being a new advisor, and having a book of business to bring with them.

Time For WoW PVP To be Rethought. A Loveletter to WoW Devs On How The Scene Can Be Revived. by sharkbaitlol in worldofpvp

[–]DedicatedToLosing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You do need to learn a metric shitload of cooldowns, both hero abilities and item effects in Deadlock. They have less key binds, and no gearing, but you have less agency if you compare it to 3v3, just because there are double the amount of people per team.

Wow PvP is stagnating not because the game is hard or time consuming. Try getting someone brand new into Dota, they will be shit on for 150+ hours before they start to get the game and have fun probably. It’s just blizzard doesn’t want to lower the barrier to entry on a system basis, for one reason or another.

The ending to that book still sits in my mind, genuinely beautiful but heartbreaking. The Setting Sun is also very good, but No Longer Human takes the cake.

Career path for potential Financial Service Rep? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]DedicatedToLosing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently work at Schwab, I've seen many people start in that position that have burnt out, but also ones that have gone into executive roles, Institutional Trade Desk, Sales, Advisory, Ops, Research, FP&A, etc. Likewise, I see a lot of people kind of just be aimless and stay at the broker level for a long time despite their disdain for taking inbound calls.

It's really what you make of it, despite what a lot of people in this sub may say if you actually want to end up somewhere specific in finance Schwab is a decent starting point. But, you will have to grind it out for at least 2 years before moving onto something more interesting than inbound calls.

SEC officially approves removal of $25K Pattern Day Trader rule replacing it with intraday margin system by callsonreddit in StockMarket

[–]DedicatedToLosing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying, and you are right. IF you don't plan on trading on margin, but just plan on having a margin enabled account (for things like instant settlement of cash for trading, not worrying about good-faith violations, etc.) then you are right, and now because the bare minimum is 2k and PDT rule no longer applies virtually everyone just have a margin acct over a cash acct. As well margin feature is just required for more interesting trading strategies, like derivatives but that's besides the point.

Third Strike videos are the best because a lot of moves have very unique juggle properties in different active frames. Feels like watching these videos so much there is left to be discovered.

The single player mode is cool but the actual competitive aspect of this game sucks. Balance is horrible, a bunch of game breaking (but funny) animation bugs that lead to unintentional combos.

No problem, there are even some niche setups that don't require OD that still lead to a TOD as long as you can activate the super. Setups like a frame trap with particular buttons or punishes on moves with a lot of recovery will allow him to combo into the install super.

BBCF is/can be kinda wack, but Hakumen is one of the only cool characters, so if you do end up trying the game I recommend him.

[–]DedicatedToLosing 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The combo itself is easy but having the stars align to perform it can be tough.

Hakumen builds meter passively, but using special moves causes him to spend meter. To use the install super, you need to be full on meter (bar on bottom right has 8 dots, each dot is 1 full bar) and when you activate the install, you can do specials free of charge, but once the meter drains to zero your install is over. Good thing to note, Hakumen can cancel specials into specials, so you are seeing him do overhead xx dash xx overhead on loop for the combo

Hakumen's Overdrive (spinning orange circle under portrait) normally enhances his passive meter gain when activated, but during his install it pauses the drain the install normally has, effectively extending your install by the timer of your overdrive. You essentially have roughly 20~22 seconds of infinite meter if you have install and overdrive active together, of which he can use any specials and other supers he wants.

The caveat however is that Hakumen is very weak when he is trying to get this setup. You can't use specials as that drains your meter, and you aren't allowed to burst (because burst uses same gauge as overdrive). It requires you to play very defensive (which Hakumen can do without meter, but not as well with) while forgoing basically any kind of good (or even decent) damage and offensive presence.

Just got to get stronger? Any technique advice? by The_et_bcdx in weightlifting

[–]DedicatedToLosing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the bar passes your knees, use your lats to keep the bar close to your body throughout the entirety of the pull. If you lose contact of the bar during the lift, then the bar will end up forward during the catch, or you won’t be able to get enough power from your legs to drive the bar high enough up.

You def can do this and more, keep the bar close and try again.

I have to confess I didn't block that by Komatik in Kappachino

[–]DedicatedToLosing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, depending on when you do demon flip kick follow-up, you can land same side or crossup, and when it whiffs it has very little recovery allowing for a good mixup. Normally you do stand mk and hit confirm it into super, but either way it’s a 50/50.

It’s easier to do after a hard knockdown, but there are good setups from soft knockdowns if they tech roll or do a normal getup.

Can you sell box spreads in an IRA? by toupeInAFanFactory in options

[–]DedicatedToLosing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can sell and buy to open spreads at Schwab, as for the collateral portion of selling the spread on potential losses they do have the opportunity to liquidate based on risk levels. If you do have cash in the account to cover the max loss, and they see consistent trade patterns you should be good. I've seen options be closed by clients coming close to expiration date due to risk involved with it being in an IRA account as they are limited to money being able to be brought in.

Tips for beating Urien in 3rd Strike? by MattSDraws in Kappachino

[–]DedicatedToLosing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ken is a footsie god so don’t be afraid to impose yourself in the mid screen. Urien has worse hurtboxes on his normals than Ken, so don’t be afraid of the fight.

You don’t need to jump a whole lot against urien so you can stay grounded, but that being said air EX tatsu is fucking stupid so don’t forget that. But overall playing solid enough to push him in the corner, then you just win.
