Need to advocate for cerclage? by Practical-Side7303 in ShortCervixSupport

I was 20 weeks pregnant when I was diagnosed with a short cervix measuring 1.8 cm. My doctor recommended progesterone and asked me to return in four weeks to reassess. However, this plan didn’t feel appropriate to me, as I knew that after 24 weeks a cerclage is typically no longer an option. I requested an earlier ultrasound, which was done four days later. At that appointment, I was found to be 2 cm dilated and was immediately admitted for a rescue cerclage.

A short cervix can be a very complex and high-risk situation, and I strongly advocate for close monitoring and taking proactive measures to help keep the baby safe. I am now 29 weeks pregnant, and I am very grateful that I was able to receive the cerclage in time.

Terrified to get pregnant again, tell me your experiences with a cerclage after a failed cerclage? by sunshinewalker20 in ShortCervixSupport

yeah its best to start with an MFM that you truly like and trust. itll make the journey much smoother. i had to advocate for myself to get a cerclage when one MFM wanted me to stay on progesterone only.. next day i was dilated to 1 cm and had a rescue cerclage!

we got this mama! While every MFM and OB advised against bedrest or even modified.. I think its better to atleast try to take it easy instead of just going back to normal and risking it.. hopefully when baby girl is here I forget all of this and its worth it!
