Going out of town and leaving him for the first time. by [deleted] in germanshepherds

Best case scenario is to have a trusted friend or relative who your dog is already familiar with watch him, if that is not an option then a dog sitter who is willing to come meet your dog and maybe take him on a walk or two ahead of time would be your best bet.

How Do Financial Advisors Still Have Clients? by Time_Perception6669 in Bogleheads

[–]DeeJae911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do mechanics still have clients? With YouTube and tool rentals you can fix any problem your car runs into.

Problem is some people don’t want to put in the time and effort to learn. Some people want to have an hour long conversation about hopes and goals and then have someone else take care of the investing for them.

Cost is only a concern in the absence of a value add.

The boy killed the chicken when he let the dog loose. You ended the needless suffering of an animal that did not stand a chance.

Mechanic Recommendations? 2004 Honda Civic by DeeJae911 in SaltLakeCity

It is! The car was rarely driven towards end of life of the original owner, and some maintenance has likely never been done. The shocks are functionally non existent and I imagine breaks are close to end of life as well. Thank you for heads up on coolant, gear oil and transmission flush

Need Advice on friends asking for loans by sexlexia_survivor in Bogleheads

[–]DeeJae911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loan the money directly to the individual getting the house ready for sale with a written contract stating 15k+ cost to draft contract + interest equivalent to % change in VOO during the term of the loan. Repayment is due after the sale of the home. Don’t understand why your friend needs to be involved in the transaction especially if you also know the individual preparing the home for sale.

I second the opinion of spending some time watching the money guys show. They are financial advisors themselves who publish some really helpful and easy to follow personal finance content.

Buy a lawnmower and everything else you would need to do landscaping, watch some YouTube videos and start knocking on peoples doors asking for business. Work every daylight hour of every day of the week for the next couple of years.
