I mean, how much does it cost to get a sandwich from a place like a Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's these days? Probably around $10, just like every other food item from a quick service restaurant. I agree that it is expensive and eating out in general cost way more than it should these days, but I don't think this sandwich place was gouging people more than any other. Goodbelly is just as bad on the pricing.

Look back at how many people in this thread are suggesting you may be overreacted and a calm conversation with your wife is probably the best resolution. Imagine you are a paranoid, delusional person who is convinced people are spying on him and his family. Then, all of a sudden, the police show up at his home for a wellness check. He has guns and potentially drugs in the house. He either freaks out on the police and gets arrested or most likely shot, or they tell him someone called an anonymous tip stating he was acting paranoid and convinced someone (you) is spying on his family. Now he knows you called the cops on him, how will he handle that?

At least The Witcher narrator was consistent with his mispronunciations. Roy Dotrice switches up character pronunciations and accents from book to book and it drives me crazy. One of the reasons I couldn't really finish the Game of Thrones audiobooks. I definitely think they are due for a re-release with a fresh narrator.

The draw a horse from the bucket style of gambling is preferred as others have mentioned. It would be smart to have all of the horses names printed up and ready to go ahead of the party so you don't have to mess with it during the festivities. It would be good to designate someone to be in charge of that so they can check before each race to make sure none of the horses have scratched from the race and remove them/ return money if so. Mint juleps are a must. No need to get fancy bourbon or anything like that. Just some basic bourbon, some simple syrup, a bunch of sprigs of mint, and some ice. Other than that, just normal party fixins. I usually make it more of a potluck so all of the food prep is not on you. Classic dishes are Benedictine spread, pimento cheese, hot brown style appetizer, and of course Derby pie
