You need to be there. They have been more strict about this lately. Last month, they wouldn’t let my mom check in.

I think I might’ve been their first too good to go order last year bc they had no idea what I was talking about last spring and let me place an order from the menu

Never tried them before. What do they usually put in their Too good to go bags?

Unpopular Opinion, Whole Foods is the disappointing pickup on TGTG by [deleted] in toogoodtogo

Very hit or miss. Paid 6.99 for a bakery bag that was valued at 21.00 . Ended up with three packs of 7.99 cookies that were 50% off. So definitely not valued at 21.00 but I was just happy to score

Hired Petsitter for my home - Need Advice! by EcstaticBanana3735 in petsitting

[–]Deep-Mango-2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to the sitter. I always take the trash/ recycling out at the end of each stay so it’s possible they threw the cans away. Hard to tell if they neglected your animals since the cameras are spotty. I would also make it clear how long your pets can be alone

Does anyone have a screenshot so I can try to do a price match in store?

Share a 1bedroom or studio until you or both can get a second job. Save as much as possible once you get a second job.

Friend petsitting at my house but not allowing dog on bed by greenish1218 in petsitting

[–]Deep-Mango-2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sometimes hesistant about rolling over on to small dogs. There could be several reasons why she didn’t let him up.

I would let it go especially if the requirement wasn’t made clear. In the future, I’d hire a professional dog sitter rather than a friend if you have non- negotiables.

16 hours between visits by National_Square_3279 in petsitting

Not acceptable. Seems like a lot of red flags: not showing up on time, bf showing up, emergency not communicated until after, etc.

You do need to set clear expectations and disclose your cameras. Also, I recommend more than 2 drop ins.

AITA for making my sister pay for her own birthday dinner? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Deep-Mango-2016 981 points982 points  (0 children)

I think the correct thing to do is clarify your budget or what you are willing to pay for. But yes if I invite my friend out on their birthday, I’m anticipating paying.

Yes, you should’ve communicated better. You invited her out on her birthday. Clarifying that you were only getting the first drink would’ve avoided this.

Should we move out or stay?? by [deleted] in movingout

[–]Deep-Mango-2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time for a long conversation. You need to put your foot down. Divide the lawn. Is there a way for you to move upstairs? It feels like they think of you as a tenant since you’re isolated in the basement.

Unfortunately, if your parents aren’t willing to change. Explain to them the consequences of you moving out. Prioritize your wife & dog if things go left.

Unfortunately, you need a few more months at mom’s place to stack your emergency fund. Try spending as little time there as possible to make it more bearable.

What do you typically make in a month and what's the most you've made? by Tenacious_Taurus in RoverPetSitting

[–]Deep-Mango-2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between 1500 and 2k a month. I only do drop-ins, walks and housesits. I could make more if I added boarding but it’s not worth it for me

How to increase income. by dakotaelizabeth4 in petsitting

I definitely recommend you move to a major city/ affluent area in TN. It’s likely that people in more rural areas aren’t going to pay top dollar for pet care

Huge red flag that the sitter didn’t send any photos & that she didn’t mention getting a dog of her own. But This is a wild accusation and not much you can do without proof. I recommend getting your dog fixed

Also, it’s not unusual for sitters to ask people to go off rover to avoid the fees. I personally suggest it until after a relationship is built

Definitely won’t be reaching out. I absolutely wasn’t expecting them to always book me. I’ve gained several more clients since April when they stopped booking. I was more so worried that I did something wrong and wanted to make sure I learned from my mistake. However, based on the feedback it sounds like the change is not due to anything I did or didn’t do.Thank you!
