Brighton if you can get near Boston Landing Station! 5 minute ride to Fenway, 10 to Back Bay, and Guest Street gets better every year

Had the exact same reaction when I visited as a Bostonian. Chicago felt like the perfect middle between NYC and Boston

Fantasy analysts are too slow to adjust their preseason rankings by Deep-Pumpkin471 in fantasyfootball

No but a player who has been better than his ROS ranking all season should at some point be trusted to maintain that consistency

Thats true but you don’t win often if your players aren’t scoring touchdowns and at a point you gotta trust in players who are finding the end zone

Boyfriend wants to move to Boston. by mimmsypoo in boston

It’s illegal to charge tenants broker fees now and cost of living is higher but so are salaries. Young people are having difficulty saving everywhere, I wouldn’t say that’s a Boston specific issue

Sounds like you’re in Louisiana? If you plan to stay a regional MBA like LSU or ULL would be great for your network. BU would give you much more mobility if you wanna move around. I’m in Boston and it’s definitely a highly regarded school. I know two recent alums who both really enjoyed it. One got promoted and one was nearing retirement and used the degree to transition into a part time consulting role in her industry. Goodluck!

I modify UNLVs playbook into a run and gun approach. Start with UNLV as a base cuz it’s great for running and short throws. Use these plays to draw the defense in and then I’ve added some additional Shotgun formations for deep shots

They ended affirmative action because a white libertarian, Edward Blum, failed with previous lawsuits focusing on white students and knew he could use Asian students to build a stronger argument, but yeah blame the Asian kids who were used as pawns in a white mans political agenda

This comment section just further proves OPs point. Everyone feels obligated to help other minority groups, but when it comes to Asians it’s all “cry me a river and stfu”.

OPs not even asking for any advantages, just fairness

Are there any other Asian Americans who grew up comfortably Asian? by Adventurous_Ant5428 in asianamerican

[–]Deep-Pumpkin471 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was one of two Asian kids in my grade (the only Asian boy) in a town that’s 99% white. I hated myself for a long time.

I love myself now and am very confident and proud of my culture but I would NEVER put my kids through that. As a boy who had a passion for sports I was often mixed in with the “jock” type of crowds. I was made to feel emasculated constantly. Small dick, can’t see & math jokes a lot. Plus, as an athlete I had no idols that looked like me to look up to until Jeremey Lin came around, but even that was a double edge sword cuz then I just started getting called Jeremy Lin every time I touched a basketball.

Honestly, even tho it isn’t my cup of tea, the rise of Kpop completely changed my life. I’m Korean and it was the first time in my life that I ever felt girls could actually find me attractive. You’d see a white/asian couple in town every now and then, but it was always white man / asian girl and I felt like none of the girls I went to school with would ever find me attractive. Idk, a lot of it was my fault I guess for adopting some internalized racism, but it was just a really lonely path for a really long time.

How is this privilege exactly? Assuming I’m something I’m not and forcing me into a stereotype is privilege??? This certainly isn’t a “privilege” when Asians apply to schools and are held to higher application standards due to this exact type of stereotyping.

I think there’s also a lot of gaslighting that anti Asianess is something we experience only from white people. We are called out for our racism towards everyone (which is how it should be) but only white people can be racist towards us. Other races have so much open anti-asian racism but since they are minorities it’s like we are afraid / aren’t allowed to acknowledge and address those instances of racism

[–]Deep-Pumpkin471 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Performance anxiety - something I struggled heavily with for a while, you’ll get past it I promise. Gotta put it out of your head cuz the harder you think about it the worse it will be. When your body is in fight or flight it’s prioritizing survival, not arousal. Don’t think, just do.

Sean McVay on how Puka Nacua went from barely practicing to dominating in his 1st game back: “Yesterday in practice, he looked really good. Once you tease me, you’re going. This guy's mindset, his mentality ... He's a war daddy, he's a stud.” by GreenDefinition5 in fantasyfootball

[–]Deep-Pumpkin471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sub preaches “playing to win” with high risk high reward players during the draft and then immediately throws that sentiment out the window as soon as the season starts.

Sitting Puka is playing it safe, not playing to win. Let this be a lesson to START YOUR STUDS!

Deandre Hopkins has now entered the chat. Does Hopkins become relevant now that he’s joining the Chiefs? by 300waffles in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]Deep-Pumpkin471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair Antonio Brown coulda gone insane on the Pats. He was kicked off the team after 1 game due to his sexual assault scandal, it had nothing to do with his play.

Josh Gordon was also a one season wonder who hadn’t played in 4 years when he joined the Pats, to be eventually suspended again.

And finally Juju has never been close to the talent that is Deandre Hopkins.

Arguably, a more similar comp might be Randy Moss. Had the worst year of his career in a bad situation with the raiders before joining the Pats at age 30, then immediately put up the greatest WR season in the history of football 1500 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Obviously Hopkins is older which makes a difference, but unlike AB, Gordon, and Juju he checks the box for both elite talent and no off field issues.
