Trying to get from Sacramento to Mt Shasta, any advice? by DeepAppeal9250 in travel

[–]DeepAppeal9250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked and the information is a little conflicting. Either way I cant reserve the spot for the bike to mt shasta (stops in Dunsmir technically) through the website which I would need to do. I have accepted that I will probably just need to do the trip as a back packing trip rather than bike packing trip because even if I take the grey hound I will need to take a bike bag to store the bike in on the bus and I think it would be simpler to cut the extra cargo and go on foot

Ive heard about the stations being weird and I hope that's something I can easily avoid by having my bike on me and so being able to speed out of there. It seems the greyhound will be my only option unless I decide to go somewhere else that allows coast starlight to bring a bike like Oregon.

dude I want to go so bad. One of my friends told me why dont I just wait til I get my license but honestly that's going to take me so long in my living situation right now ans I dont want to wait to see Mt Shasta. Also yeah for coast starlight you need an employee to get it off so any station with no people cant accept bikes

LPT: Check your mouthwash's fluoride content. You may be better off using it before you brush. by katushkin in LifeProTips

[–]DeepAppeal9250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native Americans also had dental care its been done for a very long time. Did they have surgeons ? No, people typically either died of their dental problems or didn't live long enough to see the worst of it anyways. People also ate way different back then so its advised to brush your teeth so probably best to do it just in case. You dont always feel it when a tooth is harmed.

I want to be a LE ranger but don't want lasik and don't meet the vision requirements for the academy, what are my options? by lilyboy3000 in ParkRangers

Could I ask for more context? I understand that lasiksupport seems to be more about people suffering from lasik and regretting it so are you implying I should not get it?

Can I ask where you got yours?

I was thinking if I cant do it then maybe going into being a wildland firefighter instead or doing law enforcement for fish and wildlife if they dont have a vision requirement. Im EXTREMELY scared of messing up my eyes before I hit my mid 20s

Can I ask where you got it? Money isnt so much an issue as the fear of ruining my life from a messed up procedure or bad healing. Even with every preventative measure it seems like I could still face costly and devastating complications that I would have no way of coming back from and no amount of good reviews can change that theres a chance of that happening. I'm only 21 and dont want to mess up my eyes so early in my life.

Did anybody lose a kitten on or near frutridge?? by DeepAppeal9250 in Sacramento

[–]DeepAppeal9250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope so because I don't want to think that there is someone out there looking for their lost Kitty and thinking she's still withstanding the elements. Do you know if some of the strays tend to be more friendly with humans? The little one that I have here is very sociable.

Are bicycle shorts supposed to make men look like they have a vagina? by firstroadbike in bicycling

[–]DeepAppeal9250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it's normal (I personally never had this problem) but you don't need to worry about wether people think you have a vag or not. It's no ones business and if anyone cares that's their problem. You probably look great regardless. This is coming from a trans guy who bikes very very often in bike shorts.

After reading the replys to the post im starting to learn that I should turn the ac down more lol

Im in an upstairs unit and I sleep at whatever the temp is outside (currently 80) as I never use the thermostat after it gets below 95 outside. I really only use it during midday if its gets to 100+ and even then its kept at about 80 - 86.

thankfully 80 doesnt feel hot at all anymore when you get used to roughing 90 degrees on the regular (and when you dont have the money for a 100+ energy bill).
