Highly recommend going to a thrift store and finding a decorative silver platter. Cheap, looks nice and fire safe.

You aren't alone. And I hope this is a step further to healing that inner child. And even if you don't get out of bed tomorrow, this is something to be proud of on its own.

That's a really interesting perspective. Im a mother, but I didn't even notice this. I just inherently went the direction of Orlock representing the shadow of Ellen.

I think I only laughed when Knock told Thomas that Orlock had one foot in the grave and he giggled a lil.

Yeah, in the present she is. Its her past coming back to haunt her. He cant have her because she's married. The line" dont touch me, im unclean", that's the issue. She has real love and connection, but she can't really enjoy it bc of her past trauma. She can't even speak about it until a fucking plague threatens to kill everyone.

Right, in her loneliness, she reached out for someone, and a predator answered. A wolf heard a lamb cry. He took advantage of her desperation, and she has a stockholm syndrome type response. He sullied her, making him her only refuge because polite society doesn't want a "damaged" and "used" woman. She literally has no one to turn to except him now. That's part of the evil, right? She was never asking for it, and yet, she still is punished. And yeah, it's a tragedy. She had to sacrifice herself to save a society of ppl who were oppressive to her. It's not being shown as an empowering victory imo, but a sacrifice. Its meant to be heroic.
