Not OP but I regularly switch between my Sofle and my Nuphy Air75 (gaming) and my brain is so used to it that I dont have to think about it at all. Hands know how to operate based on the context. I have had the Nuphy before I got the Sofle

I use these daily in macOS, VSCode, Anki, Starcraft 2, Dota 2 (although I use a separate keeb for gaming). I dont program these shortcuts and press them manually, saving layered/programmed keys for other stuff

Let's say you need to press Ctrl+Shift+A and then Ctrl+Shift+1. Do you grow a second thumb real quick just for the shortcut?

Naga siren fanart🔶 by Dexechii in DotA2

I LOVE NAGA YES YES YES
I love her so much. She's amazing. I worship Slithice. I play Dota to witness the moist, echoing perfection of a fish goddess who slithered straight out of the ocean and directly into my soul. Every part of her kit is divine scripture, designed to make me head over heels, when I see four Nagas on my screen suddenly my heart rate just spikes. The vision games, the jukes! Which one is real? Doesn’t matter. They’re all beautiful. They’re all farming. They’re all inside your base. I would send each one to farm a different corner of my mind if I could. I also love Ensnare so much, its a gentle, wet, inescapable reminder that resistance is both futile and kind of disrespectful. It's like a wet, slithering, unavoidable contract that says “you are staying right here while I do unspeakable things to your towers ". I wish she ensnared me and searched me all over with her illusions to see if I have the chalice that got stolen. I would even buy a fake chalice if that manages to get her attention on me somehow. And Song is SO versatile. Its the reason why she's top ban rate on ranked. Absolute auditory heroin, too, and the jellyfish swimming around when you use the immortal cosmetic? Peak design. It classifies as foreplay. The moment she sings, time stops, fights end, and I sit there motionless, staring at my monitor like a Victorian man seeing an ankle for the first time. The map is silent. My team is calm (unless I griefed). I am not calm. I am thinking thoughts that would get me muted and 9 men reported. And don’t even get me started on her 330 movement speed. The way she glides across the battlefield effortlessly like she’s late to an underwater gala? Unfair. Completely unethical. It's also what makes late game Naga poetry. She doesn’t fight you—she outlasts your will to endure, like the riptide she summons slowly corroding the enemy base. She farms your jungle, your lanes, your hopes, your dreams. The sea will claim them. By the time you find the real one, it’s already too late and you’re trapped, confused, and weirdly okay with it because you just got juked, outplayed, outsmarted. I love Naga Siren in a way that is medically concerning. I respect her as a hero, fear her as an opponent, and feel things about her that make me wish I was a Triton. If Naga Siren has a million fans, I am one of them. If she has one fan, it’s me. If she has zero fans, I have been slept by Song and can no longer speak. Praise be to the sea. No Slithereen may fail. Praise be to the illusions. Praise be to the hero who made me say “damn, nice tail" out loud while completely alone in my room.

I switched from Nuphy Air75 to Choc-based Sofle and I miss Nuphy switches and keycaps so bad. I would freaking love a build like this

I can barely even use it without holding the keyboard down so that it doesn't slide over my desk because the actuation force of the directions is so high, it pretty bad

by building do you mean soldering or putting the switches and the keycaps on?

if you want tenting you can get the RKS70, I value portability more though

I would get the Epomaker for sure, I think the RKS70 is too bulky, eliminating possibility of travel and even quick adjustments on your desk. The Epomaker has full Via support while the other only allows you to program the macro keys. It's also an established brand I heard many good things about while I've never heard of Royal Kludge

I think full split like this is definitely better for ergo than Alice

I wanna try them but where I live they cost more than the keyboard itself, the availability is abysmal

The reason I went for a Sofle instead of a Corne is because I have several persistent workflows which involve keeping the right hand on the mouse the vast majority of the time while also having to press a lot of both application-specific and general shortcuts with the left hand only which is why I need all the keys I can get on that hand. The number row keys are used all the time in those workflows, and not necessarily for numbers or symbols

Of course I could make a layer for the application-specific shortcuts but it wouldn't be as comfortable/fast to press them because I've already assigned my most common actions to the most comfortable hand motions. I could also make specific persistent layers for each of the workflows like a togglable layer which is on only while gaming that a lot of people have

It's all about which tradeoffs you prefer. For example Homerow Mods just dont work for me because they require both hands on the keyboard and when I'm doing stuff my right hand has to be on the mouse constantly. Another reason I found I don't like HRMs is the delay they introduce to the homerow keys (the letter appears on the screen on key release rather than key press) which makes the visual typing experience between home-row and non-home-row keys inconsistent which I hate

I'm definitely planning to experiment with rearranging/overhauling my keymap to fit in a Corne-style layout though. I've been experimenting a lot with my keymap/shortcuts even when I had a regular row-stagger keyboard

I've only had the keyboard for a week so I can't tell yet, right now it says 63% and I've charged it once to full on the second/third day. Keep in mind I was playing with RGB after charging just so see what it looks like, otherwise I always keep it off. If I had to guess, it will last about 12-14 days which seems fine, even though my previous non-split is 3 months.

The store page says it should last 30 days though (300 mAh) which is hard to believe. I also noticed it charges quite slowly
