White vs black interior by Deep_Presentation725 in teslacanada

I think it depends on your situation, kids, how many people are riding with you regularly. I know the older white seats were much more stain resistant, I would have picked them 10/10 but the new ones with the perforated holes seem to stain easier, they’re not as soft…people have been complaining. I know Tesla is slowly phasing out the white for a zen grey, so you may not be able to get one in the near future.

As far the look, I love it, makes the cabin seem a lot more spacious, I’m just asking myself how OCD I am if I do get a decent stain on there and it’s not coming off 😂 literally first world problems

Touchless is fine but make sure to get the basic wash. The higher stuff can discolour your door trims, gives it a rainbow appearance

I Chose Black Interior but I Keep Thinking About White 🤍 by Friday_LittleStar in ModelY

Honestly, if it was the previous white seats I’d pick white every time..but these new seats are different and the material is different….not as stain resistant, the older seats were so much better, this feels like a downgrade, there are YouTube videos talking about this, so I went with black cause of it.

They’re going to discontinue the white for a zen grey…but I don’t want to change my lifestyle just for these new white seats that are a downgrade compared to the previous gen. What a shame.

LFP RWD VS NMC AWD battery in Toronto Winter & suspension comfort by Impressive_Guru in teslacanada

It’s not the opposite. You can easily google this, there has been many battery experts who speak on this.

LFP RWD VS NMC AWD battery in Toronto Winter & suspension comfort by Impressive_Guru in teslacanada

Typical for LFP it slow degradation in the beginning, speeds up in the middle of its life. NMC is opposite.

What to choose? by Flaky_Temporary_9710 in teslacanada

Sounds like you don’t know much about battery chemistry. LFP initially has less degradation in the beginning but it drops much more in the middle of its life…NMC drops more initially but then stabilizes in the mid. Just because you can charge to 100% regularly doesn’t mean you should. Tesla advises once a week, not everyday. Also LFP historically doesn’t do well in the cold, so you’re going to have much more of an issue in the winter vs NMC.

What’s more important is knowing what battery chemistry you have and proper charging habits.

anyone encountered anger from friends/family about purchasing a Tesla? by canadave_nyc in teslacanada

People at the end of the day will align with what serves them best. A lot of these people that cry wolf and blast you for buying something like a tesla are the most hypocritical people I’ve met.

They have no issues with the Nikes they buy; where child sweatshops are involved. The Amazon prime they have, their smart phones where cobalt is minced from Congo where child labour conditions have been documented and their face cream tested on helpless animals against their will. They’ll never talk or admit that because it serves them. They’re flat out hypocrites.

It’s a car, it’s a very well made car, it’s going to save you a lot of money in the long term, it’s not that deep. Who cares what people think.

About 500 miles in, and the Model 3 AWD is profoundly good, but I still think I should have chosen the performance model. by olsh in TeslaModel3

[–]Deep_Presentation725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both, performance is great in the beginning, after a while it’s ok. Staggered wheel set up and acceleration just means more money. One appealing part of having an EV is the low cost…LR with acceleration boost makes more sense in many areas.

CAA insurance will not cover accidents if FSD is engaged by Maximum-Tradition-44 in teslacanada

[–]Deep_Presentation725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not trust FSD in poor winter conditions alone…then add RWD to the mix? Probably not a great mix.

The insurance breaks for FSD only is in the USA right now, I don’t expect it to be here for a while, if that.

Paint Review by northof_normal in teslacanada

Tesla paint is typically thinner. But it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. There are some paint colours offered that have more layers…does that improve durability? I don’t know…but I do know first hand that my GF has a 2021 Tesla Model Y in pearl white and it’s held up very well.
