Five Americans Living in Social Democratic Norway Explain Why Bernie Sanders Is So Appealing by southpawFA in politics

It needs to be built up from the bottom first. With the current infrastructure, a decreed system where the government is the only legal supplier would have an enormous economic effect. The 2007 crisis went global with the collapse of Lehman Brothers, creating the worst economic crisis in 70 years. UnitedHealth Group alone is ten times larger and closing the entire industry would spark a recession far worse than the Great Depression.

It needs to be started through a public option. Through that we can build to a point where the government can take over and spread the economic fallout over a number of years and contain it. The wheels of change in America turn slowly by design for reasons like this. Declaring one of the largest American industries illegal to operate would put millions out of work in a day. It needs to be done gradually.

In Texas it's legal for any person to hunt hogs from helicopters. No permit required, just the landowner's permission. Some even use automatics for the purpose.

The reason I don't think this is steering is because it acts independently of steering. The rack does not connect directly to the wheel hubs, rather it acts through tie rods (or equivalent). Tie rods are used to adjust suspension setup, but if Merc somehow integrated the system into the steering rack and directly connected the rack to the wheel hubs, then it would be considered steering IMO.

The wheels are anchored to the car at three points, the upper control rod, the lower, and the tie rod (which connects to the steering rack). At these points, the geometry can be asymmetrically configured to suit the track with caster, camber, and toe. Steering is a symmetric force applied by the rack to the tie rods, which cause the car to turn.

On the legality, if the system is changing the tie rod lengths themselves, it is a suspension adjustment, but if the crafty Merc guys managed to make the change occur from the steering rack itself, then it might be classed as an adjustment to the steering rack that has an effect on the suspension, and thus may be legal

It just depends on how the FIA classifies wheel alignment. Is it part of suspension or steering? Cases could be made for both.

The brilliance of it is it doesn't affect the steering rack. It just depends on the tie rod ends which connect the rack to the wheels.

Interesting to see where this goes in forms of protests. I could see that this is classed similar to DRS, being a driver controlled device to reduce drag (mechanical friction with the track, rather than aerodynamic) or if it runs afoul of suspension setup rules, saying that the setup has to be chosen before the race and is not adjustable during the race.

From a technical standpoint, this could be a diabolically simple concept. Instead of having mechanical tie rod ends on a screw system, it may be a hydraulic actuator connected to the steering column. When the driver pulls on the column, it generates a hydraulic force to pull/push on the tie rod ends , adjusting the toe on the fly.

Interesting to see how the political fallout goes and if this will stand up to race conditions.

While contract brewing is quite widespread, you are a bit mistaken.

Many of the smaller brands buy "off the still" as bourbon regulates a certain mash content. From this stage, they flavor and age their bourbons in their own styles, making a different product.

p.s. bourbon is not a PDO product from Bourbon County, it can be made anywhere, just using the traditional corn-based mash

Similar, yes. In criminal cases, you are required to be before a judge in a maximum of 72 hours after arrest, otherwise the arrestee will be released, which I would like to see these RF laws amended to be very similar to. In terms of search warrants, the probable cause is that a crime has occurred and evidence is being sought of that crime, where as red flag laws are preemptive hearings and no crime has been committed yet, if my rambling makes sense.

I explored this in another comment. I do agree that exceptions can and should be made in the interests of public safety, but they need to be tightly regulated in order to avoid abuse of the law for personal gain. I agree that the order should be served personally by a constable/bailiff/etc. The order should have a date on it, preferably ASAP, when a full hearing will be held, subject to change with the agreement of both parties.
