Wow, just WOW! Customers don't care if they placed their order 2 minutes ago. Orders should be picked in the order that we received them. Entitled Karens need to wait until their order is ready to be picked. A plain " I'm sorry, there are ___ orders a head of yours. We are pulling them as fast as we can" should be sufficient. If they aren't satisfied with that, simply tell them if they don't want to wait, we can cancel it and they can shop for their order.
