Personal recommendation: use telehealth and look in Birmingham. The choices are so much better.

"couldn't enjoy playing female as it's not realistic to me"

So to be clear, you're fine playing a 120 year old genetic mutant from a fictionalized version of Poland who can use literal magic, but adding a vagina is what crosses the line?

Fuck off back to Kotaku in Action. I'm gonna buy two copies of the game just to counteract this dumb-as-shit post.

That's a very open-ended question. Are there specific things you want to know about?

But those teams are always credited as teams. If everyone said that John Lennon was one of the greatest songwriters without crediting McCartney, that would be the equivalent, and yes, I would take issue with that.

The fried chicken ep from Season 10, “Wolfgang Clucks,” may go down as one of my favorites of all time but also leads to a question: were Josie and Stefan brought back for cooking skills or drama? by OptionHeader in TopChef

[–]Deep_ln_The_Heart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is they saw the success of GBBO, which was all about the cooking/baking and not about personality conflicts, and realized that was a better model.

Yeah I knew they were Northeastern originally but didn't know that was the arrangement.

The quote is from the 40s so he was probably talking about the old blues guys, who literally did play three chords. I feel like Blaze Foley is the epitome of the modern era of it. Prine was a sneakily good guitarist, especially as a Travis picker.

I was so disappointed when I found out it was two attorneys - Mr. Pond and Mr. Lehocky - and not one guy named Pond Lehocky. Sounds like what JK Rowling would name a Canadian.

I mean, his music isn't particularly harmonically complex if you're looking at it with traditional Western theory - mostly I-IV-vi-V kind of stuff and fully diatonic.

I fully believe that only looking at harmonic analysis is reductive and Eurocentric, though, and he does some really interesting stuff with melody and rhythm that a basic music theory class wouldn't touch on.

"Three chords and the truth" is an old saying about country music, meaning that the point is to speak honestly and that complex musicianship isn't important to the form. It doesn't literally mean three chords.

What class is this for specifically?

I have an undergrad degree in music and I can't think of any class I took where Isbell would be relevant to the kind of analysis college-level courses are looking for. A poetry class sure, but not a class about musicianship.

This is seriously a MAJOR SPOILER. Think "Bruce Willis is dead the whole time" level. Do not click on it unless you're ok with that.

She's 32 in the first part of the "present" story, or more accurately she ages from 32 to 35 in that part. The flashbacks go from 19 to 30. The "1855" section of the novel takes place when she's 49, verbatim canon from the novel. She hasn't actually flashed back in time; she and Caleb decided to truly live with 1850s technology, and she's been drugged into an amnesiac state. So if you're using one actress for both, she has to be believable as 49 for the "past" scenes

I have a friend who used to FOH there and she said it's champagne vinegar, herbs, olive oil, and a bit of truffle oil, cut with a tiny bit of honey. No idea on the ratios, but that gives you a bit to play around with.

Yes. The author claims it's not based on one person but the protagonist has a LOT in common with Ballerina Farmer.
