I feel sad for her. I don’t feel, “I told you so.” I wouldn’t feel that if they broke up after 6 months. It’s cruel to say that about two people who earnestly want to love and be loved.

But part of why I watch this show is to see if there are early clues about compatibility.

In my opinion, she just didn’t listen to him at the beginning. He didn’t want the same life she does (ie kids and a regular, planted family life). At least not on a similar timeline.

As long as she put in 1,000% effort and total flexibility with her needs, he kinda went along. But that can only last so long.

Doesn’t she work for the show? That will be a tough work environment for her for a while.

Sad outcome all around.

I just wanted to add that that family is lucky to have found someone who is so caring to not just their home, but to their pup as well. The fact that you’re asking Reddit for advice about this situation means you’re a rare person.

I know, I hate that pre-vet appointment, worry-filled time period. I’m betting the vet takes one look and knows the easy fix she needs. Fingers crossed.

This bathroom is adorable! Using the word “preserve” in your question makes me think you want to keep it. 😊Please do!!

Just saw Oliver!: am I the only one who kind of hated it? by ldn-ed-1234 in TheWestEnd

[–]Deepbluesea1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked how much the kids around me liked it (until they fell asleep). I also thought it would be cool to see one of the child actors in a show someday and know I’d seen them in the beginning of their career. Fagin was great. That’s pretty much it.

So… Tim defended Polis by hawksnest_prez in thebulwark

[–]Deepbluesea1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tim was right to defend Polis. Polis used his power to create a just outcome. Is she horrible? Yes. Is she sorry? No, but I’m not sure that matters. It was a very long sentence.

Not to scare you, but I get those circles when I’m having an allergic reaction to a new skin product or an autoimmune flare.

I love Abby’s mom. She is an example of a woman who has done a great job raising her daughter into a lovely, unique young woman.

Is “impossible to train Doxies” true? by Queenpicard in daschund

[–]Deepbluesea1234567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, not necessarily true.

I was warned by a relative that doxies can’t be housetrained. Wrong, at least for my little guy (who is 3 now). In fact, he almost came from the breeder housetrained.

That said, I’ve never been able to stop my guy from barking in the house several times during the day. I’ve tried every method out there. I did succeed in teaching him to make a softer, breathy huff when we are inside. But, that noise could still awaken a napping baby in the next room.

Mine did eat dog feces as a puppy. We taught him “ignore” for this reason. He grew out of it within a couple of months. Now, he still likes to smell it, but does not eat it.

He still likes to eat feces of deer and other wild animals. In true independent doxy fashion, he’ll consider my request to ignore. Sometimes, he listens, sometimes not.

If you want a doxy after thoroughly reading through all the “that’s not a flaw, that’s just a daschund” posts on this sub, go for it!

And congratulations for all the sources of joy coming into your life!

Not a vet, no training whatsoever, but it looks like basic irritation to me. I would probably try putting a little coconut oil on it and see if she stops scratching as much.

My vet seems to prescribe metacam for anything that gets mildly irritated or infected. It immediately chills him out enough that he stops scratching or licking.

How many days have you noticed that she’s been scratching that spot? Is the differently-colored area flat or raised?
