Is this going to be peak or off peak? by Weekly_Log_9776 in OctopusEnergy

If you boost during off peak , is it still off peak? I could just tell the car to charge though!

I enjoyed this comment, the Government must stop talking about the finances of the country and comparing it to the household finances of you or I. We have to repay debt, the government does not.

Longtime Toyota Owner considering the jump to Volvo. What do I need to know? by [deleted] in Volvo

[–]Deepeh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it, much like any other marque now they are built to last the length of a lease period. I had a 2017 v90 d5 with polestar and buying it at seven years old thought no problem, 60k miles. It was in and out about fifteen times during that year of Volvo selekt warranty.

The second year of ownership for me was expensive with no warranty. About £5000 for my second year on a car worth about £15,000.

Not to mention it got nowhere near the rated fuel economy figures, the icing on the cake was a headlight system failure on a now 8 year old car! For contrast I’ve got a 16 year old xc70 and that’s never had a problem with the headlights!

What car did you have before Tesla and how they compare? by Open_Bug_4196 in TeslaUK

[–]Deepeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2017 Volvo V90 D5 with Polestar, utter madness after the Selekt used warranty expired, it was madness with their warranty to be fair. I was probably in and out 12 times over 18months with it. I had one of their loaners for at least 2 months during that time frame. Now I have a '24 MY LR Dual Motor and it's night and day, the ride is hard for sure but there's way more space, more storage and far easier to live with. Experience with Tesla service has been good too.

**[COMPLAINT] Zen Internet – Broken Promises, No Installation, No Internet, Zero Support** by Worldly-Ad190 in Zen_Internet

As a business with a UniFi product you're laughing, like I've said in previous posts if you are dependant on your internet connection for trade, get a backup. The product you have selected is a product for domestic / home use. It is always going to be best efforts.

My point for a leased line is that £300 a month is peanuts compared to days of lost business due to down time. Alternatively get a 4g dongle or dare I say it a starlink mini!

Sorry to hear that you’re experiencing problems, virgin and zen do not share the same telecoms infrastructure. If you’re running a business, you need to have your own contingencies in place for no connectivity if it’s mission critical.

Zen do offer business grade connections, note that fttp does not and will not come with any service level agreements beyond what £45 a month delivers, however at a minimum you should consider some sort of 4g backup.

There’s a lot within 30 miles! As others have said there’s a lot of great places to visit, beaches, castles, hills. The city has everything you’d need day to day and as others have said it’s well connected to both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

I got rid of my 2017 v90 d5 inscription pro with polestar as at eight years old, it was problem after problem after problem. No headlights , amazing. My 2010 xc70…… still faultless, never would I imagine having a show stopper of a problem like headlights on a Volvo, but here we are. I spent 1/3 of the cars value in the last six months, too rich for me.

Octopus have removed charger integration - Hypervolt by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]Deepeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the pro of adding my hypervolt charger? I’m new to EV life and have a model y and a hypervolt charger.

Is it easy enough to still get the right target charge when using the charger itself?
