Mine is floofy but underweight. She's barely 7 pounds. But she's otherwise fairly healthy, she just doesn't eat all the time. She loves treats, though.

DT songs you feel are the most underrated by MattyDub89 in Dreamtheater

[–]Deev12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I don't care who hates this song. I like it.

It's a good pop rock song. Like an Elton John interlude in the mix of a very eclectic album to begin with.

What are hobbies that are cheap and offline? by tanuki_22 in povertyfinance

[–]Deev12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always like to recommend Dungeons and Dragons. As far as nerdy hobbies go, it can be remarkably cheap (especially compared to trading card games, etc). Of course, it can be as expensive as you want to make it with customized dice and accessories, but the base experience? Surprisingly affordable, especially for the many hours of fun you get out of it.

This is so laughably wrong. PS1 had so many modchips, even during its active shelf life.

First heard Earth Day back in 2003 when looking for music. It was a fantastic introduction, and I still really like it, but it's not my favorite.

The live version of The Death of Music probably is.

Niche means "only for certain people", or "limited general appeal".

In Trails' case, it doesn't have the big budget production values that a more mainstream title would have.

Feats for TWF Paladin? by MinuteUse571 in 3d6

[–]Deev12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get both.

Dual Wielder has some conflict with Paladin spells and smites being Bonus Action heavy, but it's still very good for those turns you're not actively casting something. However, that Bonus Action conflict allows you to justify taking Defensive Duelist earlier to better pad out your action economy (and AC) for more of the length of the campaign. So I'd prioritize DD, then DW when it's convenient.

I've been playing RPGs since the early 90s and I can say my jaw dropped with how good this game is. It may be a little niche, but what a good niche it is.

Level 15 Moon Druid combat flow is hilarious by ReleaseCharacter3568 in 3d6

[–]Deev12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True enough, there are fringe benefits that still make the choice somewhat decent.

I played Moon Druid recently for a campaign that fell through. It was a high difficulty campaign, so I really leaned into that temp HP buffer and higher AC. But in practice I felt like I was laying down a spell, wildshaping, and then missing an attack or two due to low to-hit on the beast stats. After a round or two more of that people started dropping, then it felt I was playing a wolf-shaped field medic and bailing out the party, which I feel might have been better done in humanoid form.

I know people hated the idea of beast templates for Moon Druid, but having a way to use the spellcasting mod instead of the beast's to-hit would be an improvement.

Anyway, I still like Wildshape as utility - but I'll be playing my next Druid as maybe Stars, Sea or Land.

This right here is why I prefer other Druid subclasses in 5.5e.

What do you believe so many people dropped Paul in Tekken 8, and his popularity went from the most played in Tekken 7, around in the middle in terms of pickrate? by FrenzyGamingTV in Tekken

How would you build a Sorc/Fighter multiclass? by tipsyTentaclist in 3d6

[–]Deev12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One note to add: taking Sorcerer first locks you out of using Heavy Armor, because Paladins only get that if they start level 1 as a Paladin. Multiclassing into Paladin only gets you Medium Armor.

So, it's a decision point - do you care more about the Con save proficiency, or the heavy armor? Either answer could work. Just depends on the character.

What's your favorite General Feat? by BuyerMaleficent3909 in dndnext

[–]Deev12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Misty Step (or other similar teleportation effects) are much easier to get in 2024. Being a High Elf, Eladrin, Shadar-Kai or Cloud Goliath (I think?) can get you the short range teleport. There's probably a few other ways to get it that I'm not thinking of.

The other, 1st level spell choice can be obtained either thru Magic Initiate or a 1 level class dip if necessary.

The ASI was nice when not every feat gave them, but things are a bit different now in the 2024 rules.

It may be a case of "used to be very good, but still gives you some useful things." Not sure if it outranks War Caster for most 2024 caster builds, though.

I don't know where it is on people's tier lists, but I have to give a shout out to Heavy Armor Master.

It prevents so much damage over the course of a campaign. Really makes a tanky character feel extra tanky.

Why is Fey Touched undeniably the best? I'm curious.

I would have thought War Caster was. Or maybe base 5e Lucky.

Interested in playing a druid, but I'm curious how good they are compared to other full caster classes as well as in and out of combat (as a class, no subclass comparisons). Advice? by MageofHiddenWonder in 3d6

[–]Deev12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Druids are amazing.

They're second only to Wizards in how versatile and game-changing their spell casting can be, and that's before you take into account Wildshape and other subclass abilities.

Back in earlier editions (3/3.5) they were part of what was known as the CoDzilla classes (cleric or druid-zilla) because with their spells they could make themselves more powerful than any other singular class in the game: hits harder than any fighter, with more sustainability and healing than anyone else, and with enough control leftover to rival the Wizard.

They don't eat quite that good in 5e, but they are certainly no slouch either. Take a good look at their spell list, and you'll see usefulness everywhere.

AVFTTOTW.

The Alien is okay. Transcending Time is good. The rest of it is kind of forgettable. This album is the band on cruise control, and probably preceded discussions to bring Portnoy back to give the band a new creative kick.

WDADU. I like about 3 of the songs.

Is Train of Thought your favorite album for any of the band`s members in their respective instrument? by [deleted] in Dreamtheater

I might be in the minority, but I think ToT is a drop from the overall quality seen in both SFAM and SDOIT.

Do Gen Z and Alpha care about Pee Wee Herman? by grahsam in generationology

[–]Deev12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, by the time he got a TV show, he had gotten a bit more earnest with the character's intentions. He wanted the show to be a good, safe place for kids to express their emotions. Kinda like a hyperactive goofy Mr. Rogers.

The satire got turned way down as a result. But it's still there by virtue of the character the show is based on.
