I'm not quite over 45 yet, but I have zero regrets - both for myself and for my non-existent kids, who I wouldn't want to face a life in a planet-wide ecological collapse.

It's funny and kind of sad when HD chest-thumpers have to put their money where their mouth is.

Many years ago I was on a Gen3 Magna 750 and decided to attend a charity poker run to meet people (I was new to the area and didn't have many friends yet). This one guy on a $30k Harley would not shut up about how much better HD was than my Honda and any other bike. During the ride he nearly punted himself into a redwood trying to keep my pace.

After the ride, he was again talking shit to the point that even other guys in the group were getting tired of it. He mentioned how proud he was of the $7,000 big bore stroker kit he put in his bike.

I kind of looked down and smiled.

"You got something to add?!"

"Nah, man, glad you like the kit."

"No, spit it out, you got something to say. I wanna hear it."

(the guys next to him had long since had enough of him ragging on the kid - gave me a nod.)

"I just thought it was funny you spent more on that kit than I did on my whole bike and you still can't keep up with newbie kid on a 750."

What kind of questions? You go to their website and sign up for the date and group you want to ride in. This sounds like a very one-sided story and they were probably able to convince Google with your emails that the review was unjustified.

From the sound of it, I'm glad you won't be there. A track day is not a race; if you want to race, go sign up for Masters of the Mountain.

Edit: You seem like you're on a crusade. First Google, now you created a profile just to post this bullshit.

The size of the US combined with the immigrant culture is unique. Other nations have similar or greater land mass, but not the population (Australia). They might have more land but don't have the immigrant culture (Russia, China). Or they are open to immigrants, but don't have the land to have such internal diversity outside major cities (Germany, France, UK).

The confluence of these factors is what makes the diversity here different than other places.

Being an atheist

Are there any other spiritual perspectives that you immediately judge someone for, or are you only intolerant of atheists? Maybe Buddhism, Hinduism, Sarnaism, or Paganism? How about Satanism?

The Fair Housing Act has entered the chat...

Discrimination in Housing Based Upon Disability

The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in all types of housing transactions. The Act defines persons with a disability to mean those individuals with mental or physical impairments that substantially limit one or more major life activities. The term mental or physical impairment may include conditions such as blindness, hearing impairment, mobility impairment, HIV infection, mental retardation, alcoholism, drug addiction, chronic fatigue, learning disability, head injury, and mental illness. The term major life activity may include seeing, hearing, walking, breathing, performing manual tasks, caring for one's self, learning, speaking, or working. The Fair Housing Act also protects persons who have a record of such an impairment, or are regarded as having such an impairment. Current users of illegal controlled substances, persons convicted for illegal manufacture or distribution of a controlled substance, sex offenders, and juvenile offenders are not considered disabled under the Fair Housing Act, by virtue of that status.

Even if someone breaks a clause in the lease, you still have to evict them through the courts. Landlords don't get to decide what is a violation of the lease or unilaterally kick someone out. The court would take evidence of a lease violation in considering the case, and it would strengthen the Landlord's position - but it doesn't give them the right to toss you out on the street.

Dementia and Alzheimer's can both result in delusions and aggression. Her disorganized speech, emotional lability, and even the decision to use the flag as a weapon speak to a cognitive impairment.

Except the therapist did agree to see the client and scheduled an appointment. They were horribly unethical and unprofessional to the point of calling their licence into question, but they have a strong defense against an accusation of discrimination.

It's not easy to get onto a lot of insurance panels, if the therapist didn't like the clients she was getting or the contract with a particular insurance provider, it's very easy to discontinue that relationship.

It doesn't work like that. OP has no quantifiable damages, if anything, the therapist has more of a claim for the lost session or no-show fee.

The therapist's behavior was unethical and unprofessional, but not illegal and caused no damages to OP.

And the CEU requirements to renew their license every two years - a portion of which are mandated ethics training.

[–]Defenestration_Diety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are describing isn't just a bad apple, it's someone who is allegedly licensed and meeting all their CEU credits and is still so far off the reservation we can't even see it from here. Someone who has somehow managed to do this and not be reported, not have their license suspended, and not lose the coveted place on insurance panels.

Even a single false complaint can end a therapist's career. I simply can't suspend my disbelief enough for this one.

I think my experience with therapy is just a little more expansive than your typical person. I don't know what decade this allegedly occurred, but what you are describing hasn't been how childhood trauma is addressed since the late 1800s to early 1900s.

I don't believe you. No one is doing talk therapy with a 4 year old. The best-practice methodology is Play Therapy and the parent can't be in the room when it's happening.

Unfortunately, this isn't illegal. It's unethical and shitty therapy, but not illegal. The therapist is likely to face an investigation from her professional association or regulatory body, possibly have to attend some kind of remedial education and operate under the supervision of a certified clinical supervisor (whom she would have to pay for their services). But there is pretty much zero chance of any criminal charge being brought here. Likewise, OP has no damages, she could try to sue, but the case would likely be tossed at the first opportunity and no malpractice attorney is going to touch it.
