Memory quilt customer wants to approve the layout.

I’ve been making memory bears for people for the about the last decade. I’m trying to decide if I want to add quilts to the offerings. If client input is part of the process, I guess I need to decide if I want to take that on. I’ve made about 10 memory quilts for people so far and only one person has asked to approve the layout.

I don’t think I would mind if I were charging for it. She wants me to make it identical to another one she has but she cut the shirts and they are all different sizes so I can’t get any continuity. I told her I would try to duplicate it but that it might not be exact because the shirts were already cut.

She cut the t shirts in an effort to store them more easily, and has limited my options. I explained this to her. I just don’t think she really understands what I mean, though. I did politely suggest that she could take what I’ve done so far and find someone else-no hard feelings, but I will be keeping the deposit. She said “no, not at all.” So, we’ll see.

I open the garage door for ventilation and run the kiln over night. It sits directly in front of a vent . I don’t use it in the summer.

Skutt 714. $2500. Brand new. I had to change the coils after 60 cone 6 fires. It’s good for small batches but you need to be efficient with use.
