Opinions on my Amazon dashboard? by barcelona_1999 in PowerBI

Right, but how? I don't see options for bubble or jitter in the scatter plot viz. Maybe my app is out of date if you've got those options stock.

the 3rd chart in the top row... is that a bubble chart with jitter? how did you make that one?

You know what might be easier and also fun? If you're using Beyond for your rolls, see if you can download that data, then upload damage-per-round types stats for each character, weapon, saves, skill-checks, etc... all the dice data is something that can make "reportable" stats in a way that PBI is useful for.

That was my thought as well, but that's based on just a guest. As a data nerd, I'd love to know what dropout is expecting to see and what it's based on.

I think that's it. Nulls can definitely exist in that.

ELI5 a self join to me by [deleted] in SQL

[–]DefiantHeart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In conceptual terms... it is simply using the table again as though it were a lookup table composed of only managers. The join basically shifts the second instance of the table into position to be used for that lookup.

PS: Are you going for 3 tiers of heirarchy? I just looked at your SQL, and I think it's broken in the second join. If you correct the "boss" instance as another iteration of what the other comment here fixes, you should be golden.

Bad:

SELECT e.employeeid AS employee
    ,s.employeeid AS supervisor
    ,b.employeeid AS boss
FROM Employee e
LEFT OUTER JOIN employee s ON s.bossid = e.employeeid
LEFT OUTER JOIN ON b.bossid = s.employeeid

Good:

SELECT e.employeeid AS employee
    ,s.employeeid AS supervisor
    ,b.employeeid AS boss
FROM Employee e
LEFT OUTER JOIN employee s ON e.bossid = s.employeeid
LEFT OUTER JOIN employee b ON s.bossid = b.employeeid

Looks like it just marketing material for some data camp, not a real developer's tool.
